Ram's with mirrors fully extended.....why?

What is it with all the Ram owners I see driving around with their mirrors fully extended??? Do they think it looks cool or something? To me it looks more like some girl, just released from a 6 month rehab facility, with her arms straight out, skipping around on the beach singing the Pointer Sisters song "I'm so excited" at the top of her lungs......

I just don't get it.

Same thing here in Florida. I'm guessing these people don't park in garages or parking lots full of cars! So foolish.

I just don't get it.

They’re not extended, they’re just rotated to the tow position. They’re no wider rotated up than they are in the standard position.
Go drive a ram with them down, they’re the shittiest designed mirror when folded down, if you want to actually see something behind you or next to you in the lane, you need to have them rotated up.

I'll have to get a better look, but I don't think those are the mirrors I'm seeing. They are more like the photo attached. If they stick that far out stock without the ability to bring them in, Ram engineers are f'd in the head.

Yes those are the same mirrors. They rotate at the far end where the chrome meets the black.

And yes. In a past life I worked for an automotive suppliers and most oem designers (engineers don’t make the styling choices) are idiots. I can confirm that.
