Here's the situation. I can be listening to spotify through android auto and then either pause the track or completely change it over to FM and listen to regular radio. I stop the truck, run my errand, get back in, and it automatically starts playing spotify through android auto, even though I wasn't listening to it when I shut the truck off. It's very annoying and shouldn't be happening. I think it should pick up where it left off, on the FM station I was listening to. Is there a setting somewhere to make it remember the last thing I was listening to and keep playing that? It's super annoying to have to switch it back every time, almost to the point where I just want to stop using android auto because of the inconvenience. Anyone else find a way around this? I know, first world problem, but still, paying 60k for a truck and it should not do stupid stuff like this.

I've noticed the same/similar thing with Apple IOS on both Spotify and Teams. A quick fix I found is to turn off WiFi on the phone which kills carplay.

I just starting having issues with mine last week. I've been listening to sirius xm since I got the truck. However recently it will be in the middle of a song and suddenly it switches from XM to android auto....and starts playing some news cast about how to purify sulfur water in Florida??? I hit the xm button and it goes back.. but then minutes later it switches again. I've had to turn the bluetooth off on my phone to stop it from happening....but then I have no GPS.

I noticed this is my 2021 Silverado, there is a setting in AA to automatically start media, combined with automatically start AA this would cause what youre experiencing. I have mine set to NOT start media automatically, and to start AA if it was open when shut off. this seemed to do the trick. I always have waze running on AA but dont always listen to spotify.

You may also want to check if your device is set to auto play music when it connects. It could be overriding the system and the truck taking it as if you are attempting to play music. Happens in my wife's acura.

Well the interesting thing is that it just started a week ago. I haven't changed any settings myself, but perhaps an update to my phone did? Anyway I went into the AA app and turned off all the features.....we'll see. Thanks for the tips :)

Where is this setting? Is it on the phone, and, if so, where, or on the vehicle? Thanks!

Got it. I couldn't find Android auto in my apps and realized its in the system settings on my android phone. I'll give it a whirl. Now if I could just identify why sometimes the assistant beeps in and starts listening when I'm not pressing the buttons and there's no audio at all going on, I'd be a happy camper.

I feel like all this tech is listening these days. Makes me want an old 5 window with an fm radio
