Has anyone installed the GM Accessory 19418352, the Putco LED Tailgate Light Bar? If so does it really help when reversing at night? I find it difficult to back into my driveway at night and was wondering if this would help. Also has anyone installed LED reverse lights, or does the AT4X have it already and does that help?

Yes, don't want to get flamed so keep this on the lowdown. My 21 1500 Denali. Hard to get a night shot, but it definitely helps...

finalized the order. 105 and some change after the 10% discount and just short of 25k points. Good deal if you ask me. will post pics once installed.

Very nice. I am jealous. I don't have enough points to buy. I only have 7k so I basically need to pay cash. I will in a few weeks

don't you have camera's on your truck to use when backing up at night? not sure how you can have problems with that.

I do have the 360 cameras but it is still dark in my driveway and is had to see which is why I want more light to see.

I also have this installed from boost auto on the trucks now.

Don't have a picture, but I agree with @usmcfiredog, every little bit of extra light helps with backing into field entrances, around equipment, etc at night, without aftermarket lights that stick out like a sore thumb.

I was thinking about that boost autoparts option, I am just scared about the way they tap into the wires and would hate for the dealership to deny anything because they saw that. I am already having enough computer issues. Once everything gets sorted out and I am able to drive the truck with 0 issues for close to a year I might go ahead and add that.

I have heard of taking a 3/4" piece of paper clip and crimping it into a female spade connector, leaving enough to side tap into the appropriate harness connector, eliminating boosts wire tap. It allows a quick pull out, as if the husband pulls into the driveway.

I can take a pic sometime if I'm not describing it good. Of the side tap, not the husband.

Using a paper clip would certainly work and I've seen MacGyver use a chewing gum wrapper to carry current. However, I wouldn't use either on my truck's wiring harness. Those Boost auto parts connectors have diodes so that the current can't flow both ways. That being said, it wouldn't be hard to build a good quality substitute for Boost's connectors with supplies from the local hardware store or amazon.

I'm just eliminating the wire tap connector. I still use their little module/diode.

Yes, just using a paper clip, in place of boosts diode would back feed and probably cause issues.

ETA...this thing...

Sounds good can you show me a picture of how you have it setup eliminating that tap.

If a person doesn't want to listen to @Ohiost90 and I about using just a paper clip, you can use boosts instructions and use a just a diode and shrink wrap to get the same results. Where boost has a blue ring for reference, the same gray ring on diode would be the direction to follow.

I made up another adapter, for a photo shoot, to replace boosts wire tap.
