Has anyone used one of the "new" designed Curt mfg hitch sensors for the multipro tailgate on a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500? Apparently they just came out with it. I'm seeing that it isn't really wide spread yet and hasn't hit the streets in large shipments. Curt told me that they came out 2 weeks ago and dealers should start getting them.

Previous model # 58265 was replaced by 58267. The new version is supposed to work on 2019 and newer model GMC's up to and including 2023's. Would like to hear some positive feedback before ordering one.

My apologies if this subject was posted on earlier and I missed it.
Thanks.

Any idea what's new about it. I see your supposed to remove shank still, before going thru a truck wash. Hard no for me.

is this to keep the top part of the tailgate from dropping? you can hold the top button down on the tailgate for 5 seconds and it will disable it.

Too late for me (already put a nice dimple in my tailgate) but I will try to disable it. I hate this tailgate, it's too heavy!

Gents,
I spoke to a guy at Curt mfg and he said the new model (58267) is supposed to be programmed to accept the newer 2022 and up model trucks. Apparently the older model (58265) jsut simply wouldn't work on newer GMC/Chevy trucks due to different mfg programming. That being said, these new models are still finding their way across the country so not too much feed back yet.

I do have one on order, so i'll hit everyone up with feedback as soon as i can.

Love it. Will order one for sure. I like this better than enabling and disabling the multi-pro tailgate. Plus, if you do like me and disable convenience access (where you press the button on the door handle to unlock the truck), you also lose the ability to disable the multi-pro.

I think my biggest concern was when I was swapping out trailer ball hitches (1-3/4" for 2") , each mounted on its own reciever, i needed to grab another locking pin from the garage. Meanwhile my son needed to load baseball gear into the truck while i was in the garage (RECIEVER STILL IN THE TRUCK w/ me in the garage grabbing new pin). He dropped the taile gate and fortunately caught the tailgate before it hit. Mind you, this is all on a brand new AT4 that is only 2 weeks old! I still haven't received my new Curt 59267 yet!!! waiting on Amazon...lol

Interestingly enough I almost bought the "Tailgate Fix" product but I realized that it wouldn't have solved this particular problem, (i.e. receiver in truck with no pin installed yet). Primarily because it appears to monitor off of the pin not the actually installed receiver. I could be wrong, if I am, please somebody let me know.

Regardless, both products seem to be good solid products, consumers just need to be aware of their particular situation.
