Has anyone else ran into this? Mine uses two quarts at 5000 miles and my oil change guys tell me there suppose to warn you at dealership about excessive oil usage. Said thats why they hold eight quarts now.

I have just over 5,000 on my 22 refreshed AT4 and I'm about 1/2 quart low. I figured I'll keep an eye on it and it should make the dealer free service, which I'll point out to them. All 5.3s that I have had, never used a drop.

Brand of oil causing that much usage would cause GM to reinforce owners to use a certain spec oil. You could be on to something so would follow the owners manual next time, just to find out. For all the people that don't check their oil, engine damage is coming!

DO NOT trust the dipstick. Ask a Ford F150 5.0 owner or look it up yourself.
