What are the other 6.2 owners seeing for oil consumption? I am adding 1.5 quarts between every 5K mile oil change. Exhaust tips showing a bit of soot. Used to seeing this on turbo motors but not naturally aspirated.

I am using about a quart in 5K miles. I have had several of these 6.2 motors and this is the only one that has used oil. While it is not a lot of use it still really disappoints me. I know that the use will only get worse as the miles add up. I am sure GM will tell you that is normal usage. But with today's tech, one would think it would be zero. I recently added the Range to keep it in 8 all the time. I have been told that the DFM ( which is a joke) can cause oil consumption. We will see.
I'm pretty sure GM uses DFM just so they can say they are "part of the (climate crisis) solution"....even though the system has never really worked right since they stated using it in the 80's Cadillacs, if I'm remembering correctly. The car used to be branded 4-8-6, and never worked right back then either.
Ahh, yes, the V8-6-4. It was worse, gm used solenoids to lock both rocker arms on intake and exhaust.
