Changed my oil today. Decided to go with Castrol GTX Full Synthetic SAE 0W 20 in my 2021 6.2L . Also replaced the oil filter with a synthetic oil filter. I wasn’t aware of these types of oil filters- but figured it wouldn’t hurt. What oil are yall going with?

In my last truck, I used royal purple. That’s what we use at work and we beat the hell out of our trucks.
this one I decided on amsoil. But I bought the 3L diesel so their 0w-20 diesel oil.

I use manufacturers spec Mobil 1! I use to use Royal Purple but If you lose oil for any reason and you need to add some you Have to use RP because it reacts badly to other oils- so I went to Amsoil- never had a problem other than it’s not readily available . You can add any other type of synthetic motor oil to amsoil to get by other than RP.
About 8 yrs ago I went back to OEM preferences and my performances increased in all 3 vehicles!

royal purple is not that good, there is a way better options out there , pennzoil platinum, valvoline EP castrol edge EP amsoil signature ,HPL to name a few.....

Though there are a ton of oil brands, the two most important aspects are change intervals and weight. For us diesel owners, GMC has specific requirements on DexosD brands and promote ACDelco. Personally, I have, and always will, run Amsoil and change every 2500-3000 miles. I understand the recommendations are around 5,000-7500 miles but I just don’t trust that.

I've only done one oil change. Used A Delco 0W-20 Dexos D and an ACDelco PF66 filter. Dealer did the second oil change, I'd assume they used the same. I have another 7 quarts of ACDelco and another PF66 for the next oil change. I may switch it up after that.

I swapped the ACDelco filter for a PPE and purchased a larger oil pan which adds 2 qts. Combined with the Amsoil and 2,500 change interval I’m happy
