Does anyone know when/if this will be available? I found this on YouTube. I have been driving in L9, but it would be nice to have a real solution.
Welcome.Kickstarter had to be canceled in November of last year, but Carbyte has since entered production and is now available for purchase on obdlink.com and Amazon.com.
Carbyte™ - AFM/DFM/Auto Start/Stop Disabler for GM Cars and Trucks
AFM/DFM Disabler, Auto Start/Stop Disabler and Scan Tool for GM Cars and Truckswww.obdlink.com
Thank you! Carbyte has negligible drain in sleep, and will not drain the battery. I keep mine plugged in all the time.Welcome.
I have 3 of your MX+. No issues and doesn't drain the battery if left plugged in. Will this carbyte be able to also be left plugged in?
Unfortunately, no. Carbyte currently doesn't work with diesel engines. Will this work on the LZ0? It has the start/stop, but not afm. Thanks
Welcome.Does this also disable the engine shut off / restart when coasting to a stop?
Just pull the fuse, the tailgate won't open. I was going to install a switch in the fuse panel but it was one of those new fuses that are square from the top and I couldn't find the right parts. Next time I have a trailer hooked up I will just pull the fuse.It might be worth the $135 (they have a 10% discount it seems) so that I don't have to hit the auto start/stop button every time I start my truck (23 AT4X 6.2). Also, obviously, would be nice to disable AFM, although I can't say I really notice it much. The peace of mind of staving off possible engine issues due to AFM is probably worth it. Driving in L9 is an extra thing I just don't want to mess with.
Now if they could also disable the piano key that drops the tailgate - would love that. Strongly dislike that "feature". Pulling a job trailer often, and if the tailgate drops it would be bad. Have been considering building a little piece of metal or plastic that keeps the tailgate drop piano key stuck in the up position. Too easy to hit that damn button and not know it.
Slide a quarter under the piano key to keep it from being pushed. It might be worth the $135 (they have a 10% discount it seems) so that I don't have to hit the auto start/stop button every time I start my truck (23 AT4X 6.2). Let us know what the mad scientist came up with bud.I have a solution for the tailgate drop alarm/indicator; have tested it on the bench, have to install it on the truck. I was waiting to install tailgate seal which is finally done.
Thank you! Do you know which fuse it is? Does pulling this fuse cause anything else to not work, or cause any other issues? Appreciate the response - this would be a very simple fix.Just pull the fuse, the tailgate won't open.
