Had a pickup for 56 years. Bought my first GMC in 1976; 6cyl, three on the tree, no power steering. Had a gun rack in it. Had three GMC one ton duallys for work, one was an LBZ Duramax. Had a SRW L5P 3500. Decided to downsize after I retired. Had to order this AT4, waited 11 months to get it. Never bought a truck sight unseen before, but had no choice. 2023 AT4 6.2 standard bed.
Now, I'm expecting three things when I buy a truck. A key, a gear shifter, and an emergency brake. I was surprised to find out this new truck really had none to those things.
Got the truck in June, had to learn how to drive it on YouTube. Haven't driven it all that much, kind of afraid of it, it's always dinging and chiming at me for doing something wrong, or forgetting something. I have a 12' trailer that I use with it on the ranch, go to the dump, and move my equipment around. But I haven't really driven it any distance. Don't really know how to use any of the knobs, buttons and switches on it. Had to ask the dealer if there was any gas in it, couldn't figure out the gauges.
Truck came with a bunch of "fallout" on it. Had no idea what that was, except they told me that's what it was when I asked what all those spots were. Dealership couldn't get them off, so I had to pay $1,600 privately to do "paint correction" and ceramic coating.
What the hell is that?
I suppose it looks ok, but it feels kind of funny when I actually take it to town to see this old cowboy walking to get into this truck.
I kinda miss the old days, don't expect you guys to understand.
