Looking at purchasing a 2024 2500 AT4 with the preferred package and towing package, diesel, long bed with 1029 miles. My issue is the truck was built for the Canadian market, sold to a dealership in Canada, exported back to the states, sold at an auction and then purchased by the current dealer. All the documentation is in French so I cant read the window sticker. The placards on the truck are also French. All this gives me some pause in purchasing it, for me this is a lot of money. Anyone have an experience with something like this?

Placards can all be replaced with english ones, thats not an issue. The fact it was built for Canada then auctioned in the US would give me cause for concern, appears to be an unusual occurence, but what do I know. Please be cautious.

Something similar happened to us when we bought my wife's Jeep. It was used and we didn't know until after the sale. The issue we found was the manufactures warranty didn't carry over since it was a Canadian Jeep resold in the US. I also had day time running lights due to the Canadian regulations.

Can the instrument panel be changed some where in settings? I haven't seen a setting for metric/USA.

I should have thought my question thru better. No the speedometer is only in mph. It doesn't have both kph/mph, like some of the old dashes did, when they tried to make us switch to the metric system.

Canadian dashes will have a kph speedometer, right?

The speed can be changed to mph but the dash is set to mainly use kph (max speed = 200) so when you switch to MPH, speed readings are more difficult to read.

Also the other gauges (if analog ones) will be using Celsius, etc.

Here's mine (1) set to KPH and (2) to MPH (same dash - different regional settings)

on my 2015 I could change to KM/hr. It was always strange to me that the speedo went to 140 when thats awfully fast in a truck. Then when I was messing with it I found the setting to change it. The numbers stayed the same but the tiny display now said km/hr rather than mph hence the need for the number to go up to 140.

OK, the topic has veered from the OP's question. Replying to that, when I was looking for used 2500 HD's last year, French Canadian ones on the market were VERY COMMON. So that's not at all unusual. However, that doesn't help answer whether any caution is warranted.
