Good evening everyone,

I am a new member, just wanted to do a quick intro to the group. I just purchased a 2026 GMC Sierra 3500hd AT4 Duramax 6.6. I purchased the truck because we are planning on part timing in a 5th Wheel RV (Haven't Purchased the RV yet), in the south during the winter months. I have had a few Duramax 6.6 trucks over the years used for RV towing, I plan on doing some of the maintenance myself. I hope to gain more knowledge from this team on maintaining the new generation of Duramax 6.6 trucks. Any advise on maintaining this rig would be greatly appreciated, Oil brands, fuel additives to clean fuel system & prevent fuel gel during winter months, oil & fuel Filter....OE or after market brands?

Thanks, Stan1966

I would say the first thing you should do is get a monitoring system for your emissions ... Banks idash or edge cts3. Always let your truck run through a complete Regen if you want to avoid issues.

Second thing I would do is get map spacers installed on your y bridge and change out your sensors once a year, they are the source of most emission problems and get gunked with sut.

As for the rest of your questions - I use amsoil. They have the best price for members.

I suggest investing in the vse fuel system saver system and running those filters vs the OEM crap.

I run optilube for additives.

thanks for the advice, II will look into the emissions monitoring system and the map spacers. I have heard different opinions on 15w40 vs 5w40, I will probably use the 15w40 but wanted your opinion on the 5w40 in Amsoil. Also, do you use Amsoil filters?
