Another new guy, joining your ranks. It's my first GMC. I'm coming from a Tacoma TRD Off-Road, with lots of mountain biking, camping and kayaking under my belt. I have been looking to update with something having a little more power and a few more bells & whistles (like leather....so much easier to clean with my 2 year old boxer that is always with me) as a little retirement gift to myself. I didn't feel like waiting for the new TRD Pro and, being on a wait-list, I had no idea when or what color it would be. I gave the AT4X a try and fell in love it.
I've only had it a couple days and I've not really had any time to play with it yet. Can't wait!
Also, does anyone have any idea of the weight ratings of these crossbars? I love the fact they are lower, making for easier loading. However, they are a little thin and I have not had a chance to see if the kayak mounts will hold and if it will support the weight of 2 kayaks.
I can always pull the rack off and replace it with my Yakima Overhaul (super heavy duty). I am confident that, with the rack on, the rig won't fit in my garage, though.
