Hi, all. Just bought a new Black Onyx AT4 with all options ( or close to it ). Realized minutes before leaving Dealer , the Truck was missing the all weather floor mats ( front and back ), and the blacked out trim emblems . Called the dealer today and they are checking with the parts dept. and service dept. That sounded somewhat normal, either stolen by someone or forgotten when prepared for delivery. However, today I was wiping the truck down to remove the grey ash that had settled on the paint overnight from the 4th of July Boomfest and then to my surprise, I found out the 2 skid plates that were suppose to come with it were not in place. The factory sticker list the front plate for $695, and the mid-plate for $650, also states right on the Monroney sticker that they are "dealer installed".....same as the all weather mats and the blacked out badges . Now I'm really curious. Has this happend to you or anyone you know. The Sales manager claims the skid plates should have been installed at the factory. , but then why would the sticker list them as options and use the term "dealer installed". I talked with my sales person and sent pictures of the missing plates also explaining they could not have been put on , or there would be some kind of evidence of attachment ...i.e. scratches or marks from the bolts or rub marks.
I assume all 4 parts were in the truck bed and either got misplaced or someone stole them........or GMC forgot to put them on.....or ....wait.....wait....wait for it.....they're on BACK ORDER.!!

Sorry to hear this. Your dealer is lying to you. I ordered my Canyon AT4 with every option but the sunroof.

When it arrived at the dealer there were literally two pallets of "options" for them to install.

The skid plates, steel drive shaft, all-weather floor mats, bed lights literally everything you choose as an option is dealer installed these days.

I also ordered the blacked out emblems as well a front license plate holder, both are on backorder.

Really odd that a skid plate package and steel drive shaft are added cost options for a truck marketed as an off-road model.

Yea, I'm thinking they don't have the "man power" to install parts on new car arrivals and just play the whole thing off to see if you'll even notice what you're missing. It's a sad day when you need to bring your volt-amp-meter to double check that you actually got the 220 amp. alternator that you paid for too.!!

It's a different world we live in. Dealers aren't what they used to be. I called mine today asking once again "where's the front license plate bracket I ordered and paid for?" Was told this time "they knew nothing of it".

I did thoroughly check my Canyon comparing build sheet with window sticker and what was actually there. I did finally give up on the blacked out emblems and just had them remove all the chrome ones.

it’s pretty common now a days for “dealer installed” options to be left off. My 21 was missing console safe, tow hooks, and all the floor mats.

Check out this thread....been going on for quite a while. I hope you have better luck.

Good News......Parts were sitting in the back of the dealer storage area for LPO parts , apparently they were in a big hurry to put the Truck on the Showroom floor and didn't install until sold. Just drove over and grabbed the parts , will install them myself as they wanted to keep the truck all day in service.....lol, no thanks.
