I found it on a GMC dealer's lot about 30-40min from me here in VA. At the time they had 2 AT4Xs (under MSRP) and 4 AEVs (sticker). I qualify for GMS pricing and they accepted it on the AT4Xs; wouldn't budge on the AEVs however. They also offered a hefty trade-in on my 2015 2500HD Denali, so I was out the door for a lot less than sticker.

  • the grunt from the Duramax

  • the behemoth size of it, ready to go off-roading on properly-sized trails
  • some (...) of the tech on the interior

And the last photo shows that it just... barely... squeaks into the garage.

Thats my color! I struggled quite a while between the AT4 and AT4X in HD. AEV was out of my comfort zone. Worst thing about the AT4 and the best thing about the AT4X was the seats. I ended up settling on at the AT4. I figured I could pay for about the first 20,000 miles worth of fuel with the price savings. I'll also take the AT4 to a wrap place and see if they can wrap the bumpers black. I do like that look. Prefer AT4 wheels.

I was originally looking at the Denali Ultimate because of the 16-way seat (over the normal Denali). But what turned me off of it was the single interior color of browwwwwwwwnnnn. The leather in the Ultimate is nice, don't get me wrong. It smells like a saddle shop inside the truck. But brooowwwnnnnnn. The AT4X has that all-black interior, including the pillars and ceiling.

There is only one proper color for the interior of any vehicle: black. Any other color doesn't exist. :p

Glad the sales guy showed me the AT4X interior. I'd have not known about it otherwise. Sealed the sale after I got all the GMS stuff setup.

I was not ever very interested in Denali but I have seen the ultimate interior and you are right. No way. Not a chance.

I think I'm the only moron who paid 10k over msrp for the AEV; I wanted it before 12/31/2023 for tax purposes. No, I don't regret it since my old SUV was getting way too old and I needed to replace it; I chose this truck because it seemed so nice, which it is. Had a few hassles from the dealer about some issues but thats another story.

I've got your brother in the AEV package...love the Volcanic Red! I negotiated $5k off MSRP and then got another $1k off for 1st responders. It was my retirement gift from the wife!

Nice that you were able to negotiate 5K off. Another dealer closer to me than the one I got my truck from had a black '24 AEV on the lot for nearly $7K off. It was there for quite some time, but is finally gone. I was set on GMS pricing since I qualify, but finding a dealer that would accept it for the AEV is near impossible right now. It'll happen, eventually, because the truck market is falling out from under the dealerships. But I didn't want to wait.

Keen on the boron steel bumpers and skid plates because I am going to take this monster off roading. But I'll keep it to the trails big enough for a ++4 ton pickup!

Mine does not fit.

Mine does not fit.
Visually from within the truck, mine didn't either. My friend got into the bed and watched over the roof line as I slowly eased the truck into the garage. I had the rear bed window open so he could talk to me, and he kept urging me forward saying it was clear. It did, but by barely half an inch. I'm an incorrect tire inflation away from rubbing the door.

I did the same with my wife in the bed...ha ha! Cleared the door by 1/2" as well.

Luckily all our garage doors have a clear 96" height clearance; garage doors go up towards the ceiling which are 11 1/2' for our front garages and 17' for the shop garage which has provision for a lift which I have yet to install. Fortunately I designed and architected our home from scratch hence I got the dimensions right. The 2500HD truck with crew cab bed is an easy fit and has enough space to lower the tailgate while still leaving enough space to walk all around the truck :). Could not imagine asking my wife to get into the truck bed; she barely agrees to get into the same bed :D

JVP, you wouldn't happen to be on the corvette forum as well would you?
