I am looking at a MY22 refresh AT4 6.2. Did GM resolve the lifters issues that seem abundant with previous model years? I really like the new interiors but I am apprehensive about the truck after reading about the all of the GM lifter issues in the 5.3 and 6.2. Maybe I should wait on the MY23 new 3.0 Duramax?

Depends on what you need to use the truck for, the LZO will have more torque than the 6.2 but less HP. I went from a low mileage (40,000 m) 6.0 3500 HD gas to the LM2 because I wasn't using the 3500 for towing and hauling much and the gas mileage was very poor compared to LM2.

So far I have made the right decision as my average since new at 5000km/3000m is at 9.3l/100km/60m. is 25.3 mpg with a best of 30.5mpg on a 300m round trip. This is for the 2022 Refreshed LM2 AT4. We have 3 diesel refineries within 20 min. of the house so diesel prices are competitive. I will start doing some light towing soon 3-5000 lbs. as hunting is here now and sledding only months away.

The truck is very quiet except for the tires and no problem passing super B's on two lane highways. 🙂

Thx, I may steer clear of the 6.2. I would like to see a good review of the new LZ0 3.0 since it is now 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. GM also extended its recommended inspection to 200,000 miles. It may be a few months until the auto reviewers get their hands on on.

I also have a LM2 and love it but I just had to have a transmission put in mine. It was still under warranty since it only has a little over 18,000 miles on it. But other than that the fuel mileage it awesome. I average between 24-27 around here.

Morning! I pick up my '22 AT4X today. Hopefully, I will not have the issues you are experiencing with the 6.2 motor. That being said, is this a common issue with that particular motor?

Thanks!

Tim

Have 13000 miles on my 6.2, not a single issue currently. Also, I believe they eliminated the DFM on the 22 and up models, so there shouldn't be any lifter issues.

@Pb82 Ronin is correct about DFM. I do not have it on my '22 AT4X. I have a '21 Jeep 392 that has it and I was able to disable it with a device I purchased.

The dealer ordered truck I am waiting on sticker says

ENGINE: 6.2L ECOTEC3 V8 1,500.00
WITH DYNAMIC FUEL MANAGEMENT

So who knows what it will actually show up with? Unless the F150 Tremor that I ordered in January 22 gets some chips and badges. It may ship some time before January 23. Of course GM doesnt seem to be much better at shipping new trucks in a timely manner
