Hi everyone!

My name is Tom and I line in Minnesota. I joined here to see if others are having this issue. I tried to deal with GMC and they are horrible. My warranty ran out by 2000 miles and they refused to replace the parts. My beautiful new vehicle looks like shit and I hate driving now. I told GMC that I’m a 3rd generation proud customer and this here is going to be a deal breaker with my family and me. Has anyone started a class action suit for this? It is so frustrating! This is just shoddy parts and they refuse to make this right. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas or help. I loved my vehicle and now I can’t wait to get 60k and dump it.
Tom

Haven’t seen this issue come up at all on this forum, so may be isolated. Although it sucks that this happened, I much rather deal with replacing some parts like this than all the paint issues I had with Fords.

It’s not an isolated problem unfortunately.

I didn’t think so. If you spray a piece of smooth plastic with a chrom finish with a rubbery substance to make it look like black chrome, it’s going to peel off. This is just a super poor design and should be replaced for everyone who has this problem.

I have a 2021 GMC AT4 Sierra. I live in Upstate NY, but have taken my truck down to Florida 3 times now. My first time was last year in April, and I was apparently in the middle of Love Bug season. Who knew? Those bugs hammered the front of my truck. Both headlight bezels, and fog light bezels were fine, however the grill was not. My local dealer, where I purchased the truck, swapped it out for a new one for me without issue. I have seen other small specks on the bezels now after my last trip down there a few weeks ago. The grill, and bezels are just chrome plated plastic. with a black chrome paint over them. As soon as the bugs or stones chip through that, all you can see is shiny spots which is actually just the chrome showing through. I asked a custom paint friend of mine about maybe masking them off, and coating them with a satin clear coat for extra protection, however he's not sure how the clear coat will react with whatever they coated them with. It may literally bubble up and blister off. It may be a option to make it last longer?

I have a 2022 Acadia AT4. The paint is peeling on mine. I’m scheduled to take to dealership tomorrow to see if warranty will cover the peeling paint. Any suggestions on how to get it covered.

Mine is doing the same thing and Liberty GMC in Matthews, NC will not help me and neither did GMC customer service. I have a 2022 Acadia AT4 and maybe a year later my boss bought a AT4 truck and his grill is doing the same thing from the same dealership and they won't help him either. I have seen it is a problem with a lot of these cars.

Here is a template to use if anyone else has this same issue and would like to try to force GM to action.
My 2022 AT4 Acadia is doing this same thing. Did GMC do anything to help you after you sent this letter? Because I’m going to submit this letter to them. Because I hate looking at my car with it all peeling in the front. It makes it look so ugly. And I love my car!
