Purchased 24 AT4x HD about a month ago and I absolutely love it except while driving two weeks ago my screen all of a sudden told me every thing under the sun needed to be serviced lost ac but was able to continue driving and shut it off turned back on and had all the same messages so I brought to my dealer they said I had a dead battery and replaced them and about last week I went to get in my truck and running boards didn’t activate and she wouldn’t start I tried jumping but that didn’t help. I then unplugged the batteries for about five minutes thinking it was a computer issue and wanted to reset it and she started right up and now seems fine I have another appointment this week to get it checked out but I was curious if anyone has experienced anything like this .

This week's pain: A failed software update on Monday, prompted on infotainment screen, led me to accept the update when parked and waiting somewhere and it ended with Software Updated. Little beknown to me the update was incomplete or failed; the rest of the week, the failed update kept drawing battery current 24/7, draining both batteries and the truck would not start (apparently a known issue with GMC failed software updates); I had no idea what happened to the truck. Connected my 200amp wheeled charger, started the truck and a million codes appeared which I managed to clear with my code reader. Several hours later the same thing happened again and more screen messages appeared; never had an issue with this truck, barely 10,000 miles since purchased new. Finally on my third or fourth restart attempt, I was able to review all app settings on the screen and established the software update completed only 41% and would go no further. I figured the only way was to disconnect both truck batteries for twenty minutes (passenger side is a pain). Reconnected, restarted software update (this time took virtually no time) and finally had my beautiful truck back to its good reliable self.

Moral of the story above, is never to commence a software update except when parked at home. GMC need to do something about the update process.

This is why I disabled all of those things. No data. No OnStar. If its not broken, don't fix it. I've had mine for more than a year now and haven't even been offered a single update.

Something is blocking ur update from running… if no Carbyte.. unplug Idash…or dashcam… or your tracker…

Had the same issue this afternoon; took it to the dealer who acknowledged OA Software update had still not completed. Lets see if the issue returns next week after the truck sits in the garage a few days.

This is the first I've heard of this! Sounds like I need to unplug my CarByte 1x monthly or something like that?
i made a few posts in the carbyte big thread.
Yes, you need to unplug it to get updates to install.

I think i read someone was not able to receive any updates until unplugging it also.

Thanks for the heads up. I have surgery coming up here on Tuesday and will be laid up for a few weeks. Sounds like a solid time to unplug and let updates flow.
