Leveled AT4X - 35x12.50 Attempt - Fits but don’t Recommend

So I was bored this weekend and played some tire musical chairs with my 2022 AT4X, Wifes 2021 Yukon AT4, and 2021 Bronco (same bolt pattern)

Current set up on AT4X is a 1.75” ReadyLift leveling kit and Nitto RG 285/60r20 (33.7x11.5) on 20x9 +1 Fuel Rebels. Fit fine with the mods I made, but I know a more positive offset wheel would allow for more better clearance.

I tired the set up from my Bronco which is a true 35/12.50r17 (also Nitto RG) on 17x8.5 KMC Summit with +18 offset. Surprising they DO clear (barely) but any bumps or mild off-roading would rub really bad!
Please keep in mind I have a 1.75” leveling kit and have removed the mudflaps and the bracket for them located behind the wheel liner. Plus minor trimming on the lower, front air dam.

Here are some pics which look awesome with the beefier tires. Just wish GMC would have designed these fender wells to allow for a true 35” tire with only a level like you can achieve on a Ford 150.

Just wanted to provide this post for those hoping they can fit this tire. I would not recommend this set up unless you plan to never turn and hit a small bump at the same time

PS Installed the 285/60r20 on my Wife’s Yukon AT4 and wow! What a difference. With the +1 offset they don’t clear at all with full lock, but man does it look cool. The +20 Fuels and a 275/60 would be the perfect set up for the Yukon AT4

Man that setup on the AT4X would be awesome. And the Fuel's on the AT4 looks good too.

That 35 looks proper, nice and beefy. Others have made 35s fit on AT4s, I’m sure you can make it happen.

Hi Reverse, I’m sure others claim to fit 35x12.50s and yes I can drive in a straight line on the road with them no problem. But if you were to do even mild off roading or back out at full lock on an incline it will absolutely rub pretty aggressively.

options would be a tire Manufacturer like BFG tires which run a little smaller than Nitto, maybe fit easier, a larger lift, our some major trimming beyond what o have done, and def removing factory mudflaps. I’m happy with the look of a 34x11.50 for now so I don’t have to make additional modifications. Thanks and hope this helps with anyone looking to do something similar.

Great info. What likely would need trimmed with a 33.9x11.3 tire on a 17 inch zero offset wheel with a 1 inch level? I do get into some fun stuff hunting. I need 4 auto for winter traveling so don’t want to level any higher than an inch.

Hi Chewy, my tires are 285/60r20 Nitto RG which measure 33.7x11.5 on a +1 offset 20x9, so pretty similar set up. Mine are 20x9 so maybe a 17x8.5 might be a little better fit for clearance.
I have a 1.75’ level and I had to trim some of the lower air dam and remove the mud flaps and replaced with a filler trim piece to keep the factory look best I could.

if you plan to off road and articulate some, a +12 to +20 offset will allow for more room off road in my opinion. But for everyday driving you should be good with the 1” level.

Great info - thank you for the response. I might have to drop down a size, 33, for hunting season.

hopefully my 23 order gets an assigned build date soon. Order status has been stuck at status 3300 since September. My luck I won’t see the truck until next summer.

Looks like you are trying a little of everything! So ill ask you, if I go with a 20x9.5 rim +15 offset with your 285/60s or 295/60s with the Readylift 1.75, do thing there would be any rubbing/trimming that you had to do?

I know the 285/60r20 would def have a better chance fitting with less chance of rubbing with a 1.75” level. Would recommend only a 20x9 wheel unless you already own the 20x9.5 wheels.

that’s a good offset for GMC fenders and wish I would have done the +20 Fuel wheels I have now instead of the +1 for the Rebel 6 if I were to do it again. Thanks and good luck!
