Also does anyone know if putting a light bar in the bottom opening of the 3.0 will affect the cooling of the engine due to the blocking of some of the airflow?
I did the same thing. But i would really like to put a bar or 2 smaller lights down there. Just worried about the air flow. The s&b will put more air into the engine but not across the radiators and coolersI was wondering the same. I upgraded my intake to a S&B so hoping it helps offset blocking the bottom with the light bar
Not the engine but the intercooler will be effected. Also does anyone know if putting a light bar in the bottom opening of the 3.0 will affect the cooling of the engine due to the blocking of some of the airflow?
i think specifically in regards to the diesel engines. I have been watching a lot of videos online and one in particular DONSLIFE has had a light in that area for a few years and hasn't mentioned a problem.So... is the thought (or fear) that a light in this section is going to block the airflow to the intercooler enough to cause significant cooling issues?
I just ordered a light bar to fit in this section and would block about 1/3 of the opening. Does anyone have any data showing the impact this blockage would cause?
Yea, I do have the 3.0l diesel (hence the intercooler concerns). DONSLIFE has the V8, so he doesn't have an intercooler.i think specifically in regards to the diesel engines. You are correct my faultYea, I do have the 3.0l diesel (hence the intercooler concerns). DONSLIFE has the V8, so he doesn't have an intercooler.
I think I’m just going to run the light bar at the bottom of the grill behind the grates. Seems the best spot for air flow. You are correct my fault
Let me know how it works out. I have the putco grill light install in my lower section of my grill it’s not a light bar at all and doesn’t put out that kid of light more of a bling type installI think I’m just going to run the light bar at the bottom of the grill behind the grates.
