It is possible to pre-load .kmz files or other similar coordinate based files onto an SD card to use with the onboard GPS?

The GM system is android based and as such a form of legalized spyware. I am in the process of getting rid of all the spyware and integrate my de-googled Pixel phone (running on GrapheneOS) into the system. This should open a host of additional apps and navigation opportunities. Will report back when and if I am successful.

Are you using a KMZ because you want to use Google Earth? You should be able to run a 3rd party app with the GPS file without loading the OE navigation with the file. Ive been meaning to figure this out, I use several apps and stand-alone systems in other off-road cars....I'll try to do it this week and report back.

As a privacy sensitive person I refuse to use any Google or IOS product. The key is to avoid Google Play Services since that's where all their spyware is embedded. On my GrapheneOS (de-googled) phone I use Magic Earth for navigation and Gaia for outdoors fun. I am now trying to run Google Play Services in a sandbox so I can install Android Auto on the de-googled phone (i.e. in a way they cannot spy on me). That should allow me to project either Gaia or Magic Earth on the main display. Let's cross our fingers.

Gaia displays and works, it's easy to use mapping software. Several others work well, depending on your intended use and how many features you want or need.
