Is a 2024 2500 AT4 really $9k less than a 2023 1500 AT4X?

Perhaps I am missing something but I just configured a 2023 1500 AT4X for about $84K and a 2024 2500 AT4 for $75K. I tried picking all of the same features when possible. I know the "X" is a step above but I dont understand how a very similar, one model year newer, HD truck can be that much less than the 1500. I really dont want the HD because it won't fit in my garage but this is amazing. The 6.6 gas engine in the 2500 lists slightly lower HP/TQ figures but runs on 87 instead of the 91 octane required by the 6.2 in the 1500.

Wow, those are some expensive shocks! My real interest in the AT4X is getting rid of the brown seat accents on AT4 seats and the AEV front bumper on the newest 1500 AT4X.

maybe it’s working out but gm overpriced the zr2 and At4x imo. Now if they had the supercharged engine…..
If a 24 Sierra AT4 2500 is 9 grand less than an AT4X, it would be a no-brainer to get the 2500.

I got a 23 AT4X because... my 2020 AT4 3.0 was in the dealership for 4+ weeks and they couldn't fix it, I was stranded a 1000 miles out of state with no way to get home. A new 23 AT4X came off a semi shipment of new vehicles the dealer got in on Jan 4th 2023, I got an almost 80 grand 23 AT4X for 75 grand and got 45 grand trade on my 2020 AT4, which I paid a tad over 50 K for in April 2020. Had they had a 23 AT4 2500, I would have certainly considered it, but there were NO AT4's or AT4X vehicles to even trade for in the state of Nebraska, let alone a 23 AT4 2500.

But as a contractor, for my uses, if one had been available, I would have gone with an AT4 HD. Just wasn't any available, and until my now 23 AT4X came off the semi, there were no similar/same level vehicles available to trade for.

I like my 23 AT4X. And got a relatively good deal considering the circumstances. But if currently the AT4X is THAT much more than a 24 AT4 HD, it would be a no brainer to strongly consider the HD.

I agree. As others have said fitting in the garage is a real issue for many.

Very true about fitting in the garage.

I haven't had my garage clean enough for my truck for a couple years now. My own fault. Well not "just" me - but mostly me - it's not all my stuff, but most of it is. Of course my wifes stall in this garage I gotta keep open for her, lol.

Stupidly built my garage with 7' tall garage doors 20 years ago when I built new. If I ever build another house for myself, which I likely will at some point, I am putting in at least 8' garage door headers.

But this is good incentive for me to clean up my garage. It is full of tools, misc construction materials, etc. I do have a drive under 25 x 30 garage underneath my main garage, I built/poured a suspended slab for my main floor garage so the other one is directly below my main garage. But guess what - it is full of other peoples stuff. Which just sits there. Should be, was supposed to be, my storage area for materials, tools, etc and and a place for quads, etc.

The garage issue is definitely real. I recently got a 2024 2500 AT4 with the Duramx. Didn't want to leave a $90k truck outside. I live in Reno and the weather is pretty extreme...HOT summers, COLD winters. That in mind, i had to completely redo my garage to make it fit. And it fits just barely...definitely would have to remove the tow hitch, it's that tight.

I would think most garages wouldn’t be able to fit them. That’s what my 1500 looks like in my garage. Ease your mind and get this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RCCTVCZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 No stress with parking and knowing you’re in the right position.

My 1500 fits but not with 18 inches to spare. I have one of the bigger garages in my neighborhood in depth and width so I'm sure no one could fit a HD around here. When my 1500 is in the garage I have to open the door to get to the other side of the garage where tools etc are.

I was surprised how the 2500 was priced compared to the 1500 and 3500. If inventory wasn't where it was, I think I would have traded the 1500 for another 2500, back in '22.

I built our house garage for 'the 90's trucks in mind back in '20. It's tight with the 1500. Should have built for the '30's. Would have to move a cabinet if i wanted to walk around the 2500. The 3500drw will fit in width wise, but not length. Thank goodness for a farm shop for the other trucks!

Nice fit. Love the HK banner too!

My 23 AT4X fits fine in my 3 car garage which is 24’ deep. I can walk around the truck front and sides with door down. I even have Kendon motorcycle trailer up against the wall in front and can walk through there. My 2016 Duramax Denali HD fit as well.

Ok now we’re just bragging lol. I’ve got 2 inches to spare rear and front. It’s a tight fit in my garage house built in 1997.
