Hello. I had a unfortunate meeting with a very VERY large doe 2 weeks ago, while heading home from going down to Florida, and hauling my Harley. I was on I-88 in Upstate NY. When the initial impact happened, I did have a split second to crank my wheel to the hard right to lessen the blow, without causing myself to flip or overcorrect. At the time, both seat heaters were on. The impact caused both curtain air bags to deploy driver seat bag deployed, and both front seat belts discharged. FYI, OnStar disabled my truck at impact, while I was trying to pull off to the right shoulder to clear the road. this part SUCKED. After talking with them for a few seconds, they were able to enable the truck so I was able to pull off further to the shoulder. Once the accident report was done, The officer let me go, as I was only 56 miles from my home, but I had to cut the curtain bags down after stabbing them to deflate. I was able to pull off at the next exit with a service station, to cut out the inner front fender from going under the tire, to verify that I did have lock to lock steering without interference, doctor up the nose a little so parts weren't flying off, then headed home. It seems that at the point of impact, my heated/cooled seat functions for both front seats no longer works. I've asked my GM tech friend, but they had no idea as they've never had to deal with this. I looked up on line only to find that MAYBE if I unplug the seats from the modules, let them sit for a while, then reconnect them, the seats MAY come back, or it's possible that the seat side bag deployment killed that circuit. I looked at the fuse, and they seem ok. Does anybody have any idea if this is due to the air bag being deployed, and won't work again until the seat is replaced, or is it just a module thing? My snap on scan tool, is only good up to 2012/2013, so i'm not able to communicate to the modules via scan tool.
Thank for any input,
Mike
