JUST A HEADS UP TO ALL OWNERS of AT4 and AT4X. I owned a AT4 2022 until 2 months ago. I was involved in a head collison at 65mph (not my fault) its on video and I walked away with little injuries and only 22000 miles on the truck. So when the insurance came out with their first offer it sounded a little low, turned out only $1,600.00. But I made the mistake of contacting my insurance who's ads say "Like a good neighbor" well B&*%$S#$T. They only recognixzed the Serria model of the truck and then tried to add some options. Bottom line when the responsible insurance came back with their final bid I took a hugh hit. Both said they don't recognize the add ons and neither one never did get the options or model right. The best part is my dealer has held a 2023 AT4 for me for 2 months and I up graded to the AT4X. So just a heads up check with your insurance agencies and make sure they cover model and options because "Like a good neighbor" does not. "Like a good neighbor" then told the responsible agency we will only cover this much so the responsible agency only went $2,000.00 over "Like a good neighbor said. So I took a $15,000.00 hit. Wow so sorry to hear that. Glad you were ok. It looks like my insurance recognizes the AT4X because my insurance definitely went up from a 22 LTZ Silverado.

Plus on my insurance card it does say AT4X and not just Sierra.

don't they do the quote by vin number so shouldn't they know? That's messed up I am not surprised the way things are today

Glad you are OK! Man that is all kinds of bad- not often I say is a good time to lawyer up, but this appears to be!

I,ve battled as much as I can, even the lawyer I have, said that the $15,000.00 loss I have, the insurance companies would make sure that was eaten up in court fees. Good news is my dealer has been over the top in holding the vehicle for these two months, working with me and I can't say enough good about them. Also I'm VERY HAPPY to say there is now a 2023 AT4X in the driveway looking for the few add ons. Just a heads up reminder to all you truckowners to double check your insurance policy that it has the complete model on your policy. Because when they did go by the vin I got four different answers as to what options I had/didn't have and noone would take the dealer print out as to the actual vehicle they both did it on line. Which we all know if its on line it MUST BE TRUE.

The one other thing you may have, if you have not thought of, deprecated value. I was not long ago in a wreck, someone pulled out in front of me- their fault and they had good neighbor insurance. What a battle, but in end car (wife‘s) fixed and a 8k check for lost value. Just sayin

About 15 years ago I rolled my 1999 Ford F350 Powerstroke and the 4x4 ATV I was pulling on a trailer. The ATV sustained very little damage, but the truck was a total loss. The insurance company that I had at the time (Liberty Mutual) was great! They gave me $25,000 for the truck and even let me go to the yard it was in and remove all the extras and mods that I had put on it. I stripped that truck bare.! I even took the wheels and tires and switched them out with old wheels and junk tires that my tire guy gave me. BUT they cancelled my insurance because it cost them over $100,000 for the truck, hospital bills and surgery that I had, I’m lucky that I wasn’t killed.

Just a heads up to all AT4 and AT4X owners out there. I recently experienced a serious collision in my 2022 AT4 at 65mph, captured on video, and thankfully walked away with minimal injuries despite the impact. However, dealing with insurance has been frustrating—my insurer undervalued my vehicle, citing incorrect model details and neglecting crucial add-ons. This oversight led to a significant financial loss when settling the claim. It's crucial to ensure your insurance accurately covers your vehicle's model and options to avoid unexpected losses in situations like mine.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention

Although I have two additional coverages:
1. An upfront charge I paid the finance company to cover the difference between insurance payout and what I paid the dealer since I paid $10K over MSRP.
2. I pay an extra $51 insurance premium (for 6 months) in my auto policy for new car replacement. My home/auto/umbrella polices have been with the same Insurance company for over twenty years. Not the cheapest but perhaps one of the more expensive ones , however they are good and one of the only US carriers I can insure our home with at its full replacement value.

Having said that, sh_t can still happen and I'd be out of pocket one way or another in a total loss since the accessories alone are worth so much and not part of coverage for insured vehicle although I should talk to the insurance company.

Just checked online; for $5000 for Custom parts the premium increase is like $28/6months. I need more than $5000 with winch, dashcam, lights, tonneau cover, putco tail light etc.; I feel $10,000 would cover the basic extras/replacement and installation costs and may result in $50 premium for six months.

If I may ask, how much insurance are you guys paying for your truck. Mine is presently $627 for six months (wife and I are the two drivers insured for this truck).

UPDATE on additional coverage and premium:
Got extra coverage for $10,000 accessories and it added $36 to the 6 month premium, aka $72/year which is worth it (to me).
