So, I purchased my son a Chevy Colorado (2024 Z71) in November of last year, and just picked up myself a 2025 Sierra AT4. WOW, big upgrade from my previous 2009 Z71... I'm curious if I'm just not seeing the options, but my son's CarPlay (wireless) fills his 11.3" screen up completely-- especially when on Apple Maps. Whereas with him, I only have a portion of my screen, with the right part of the screen either being a clock, Google map, or a couple other options. On the colorado, my son can even 'move' the map to his 'driver display' (where the speedometer and such are). I don't see those options, if I scroll through the driver informant options via the steering wheel. I would have assumed a vehicle worth 2x's the other, would have the same or better options. My AT4 has the Preferred, Premium, and Technology packages if that helps. Thanks for any input.

I've done a TON of research on 3rd party dongles to get 'full screen' via CarPlay (we're an Apple family), but no, he's using an Apple and CarPlay. I'm not sure if it's just screen size (his 11.3 vs. my 13.4 or a setting, or what).

It must be the different version of screen then.

That stinks because I am sure that is frustrating not being able to use the whole screen.

between the left and the right section, take your finger on the line that separates the two and drag to the right. In other words, you're expanding the "map" side and covering up the right side.

Yes, the pre-installed Google Maps will expand full screen. I prefer Waze, via CarPlay. Just mind-blowing that a 1/2 price Colorado has 'cooler' technology than their bigger/more expensive 'cousin'.

I use AA also and when I'm in the AA screen, my default screen is split between Spotify and Waze. If I want Spotify to take up most of the screen, I just hit the Spotify icon again. Spotify will not take up anymore than 3/4 of the screen. If I want Waze to show full screen, I hit the Waze icon again and it will use all of the screen. Not sure if this is what you're looking for, or if it even works the same way on CarPlay.
Also, I'm not sure there is a way to "move" the map to the driver display. There is an option you can scroll to where it'll give you turn by turn instructions to read, but you can't move the actual map over there.

I have android auto but it keeps disconnecting and the maps are blown so far up you can't see them and I have tried adjusting and setting and nothing. I have to keep restarting my phone for everything to work right. Very annoying.

CarPlay user here and I know exactly what you mean and it's extremely frustrating. I use Google maps but I prefer the one on my iPhone because it shows the actual Google maps overlay with buildings, etc. but it only fills about 2/3 of the screen. So I normally just use the Google installed map because at least it's fullscreen. But it also gives turn by turn instructions in the HUD when using navigation whereas CarPlay won't. So pros & cons

Although currently I'm not using anything in my truck because it's at the stealership waiting for a new L87 engine. Driving my son's '21 Bronco OBX edition with the big screen and CarPlay does fill the screen in that thing.

Can you tell me how you get it to do the turn by turn un the HUD display. Mine will only show the speed or pedestrian unless im paying for the on star subscription service. Honest question really.

I do pay for the subscription service so that may be part of it. And it doesn't always show speed limits, etc. I'll have to look in my Yukon though and browse through the menu settings. May be a setting somewhere

For reference, here's the Colorado's screens... Again, wireless CarPlay via an iPhone.
