Inexpensive Light Mods Boost Auto

Putting these here for anyone interested in some simple, inexpensive mods that are really helpful. I’m definitely doing the Dual Function (Third Brake Light Bed Cargo & Reverse). They’re all made by Boost Auto. I’ve had several of their products and they make quality stuff. Here’s the links:

I'm super into these mods, but also super paranoid of messing with any of the electrical system on these trucks. I worry that if anything at all gets funky with all of the electronics in these things that I'll have a warranty fight on my hands when using splicing mods.

Am I a wuss? I really like the concept of some of the mods and wish the truck had these options out the gate.

Something like this is easily removed and I would think is untraceable, seeing how it doesn’t go through computer . I very seriously doubt they would put up a fight on warranty.

I have the above listed mods, minus the auto fogs, on a 21 1500, 22 3500 and a 23 2500. No problems to date. I don't wire tap but back probe into the bcm connectors. If there is any issues I think would be a bcm warranty problem, there won't be a trace of them, once removed. This would be for the 3/36 bumper to bumper.

Here is a quick question for anyone that has done the auto fog mod. I have a 22’ refresh 1500 and when the fog lights are on, the auto high beam feature does not work on my truck. I would like the auto fog mod but not sure if that will disable the auto high beam feature?. It’s not the end of the world but just wanting to confirm before ordering. Thanks

So stupid question but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Will the intellibeam auto hi beams still work with all lights mod?

Yes, I installed the auto fog mod a few weeks ago and can confirm that IntelliBeam still works as intended. But note that when your highs come on (automatically), the fogs will stay on as well. I like that, but others may not.

I have a 2020 and did the auto fogs on. The intellibeam works with the mod and also works with as an all 6 on mod hi, low, and fogs. I contacted Boost and their reply was that it does work in that manner with some trucks but not all of them. They couldn’t explain why other than to say it was due to how the truck was spec’d out.

I did the combo reverse, side mirror, and cargo lamps while in reverse. I had to take it off because when I back into my garage I have to fold in my mirrors and then I get blinded! Food for thought...

They do make for good dome lights for lighting up the interior!

Not when you're trying to back into the garage at night and get blinded...I'm sure the wife will understand if I hit her BMW. They had to go after the 1st back in at night.

Does anyone make a wire harness extension, so that you can tap the extension wires instead of your main wire harness?

Or does anyone know the part numbers for the connectors to make your own extension/plug-n-play harness extension?

I think it depends on which wires you actually bridge. I have the auto fogs and when I have my fog lights on, my Intellibeam doesn't work. But on my 2021 I think I had different wires jumped and my fogs were on anytime the parking lights were on and had no effect at all on the Intellibeam functionality. I may get with Boost Auto and see if they can tell me which wires to jump to enable that on my 2024 because I much prefer that to what I have now.
