I have a 6500 lbs wakeboat and trailer that I take the family out in. Two hours of towing in total.

I am coming from a 2009 Nissan Titan and lets just say I previously owned a 3500 and then switched to the Titan....I would have felt unsafe. Wholly moly the difference is amazing. No more tail waggin the dog, I used to think the Titan did an alright job. One noteable thing is the transmission temp. With the Titan I had to downshift to 1st, keep the RPMs up in order to keep the transmission from overheating on the really steep climbs. With the new truck I climbed the same hill I always do and without doing anything the temp gage didn't even budge. When it comes to stopping the only reason the Titan worked is that my trailer has surge brakes on both axles. But now, I don't even feel like I am taxing the brake system.

Anyway I though I would share one guys experience of stepping up to a 3500.

I still need to go find all the lids for my travel mugs though :ROFLMAO:

6500 lbs. isn’t a workout for a 3500. My boat and trailer setup weights the same and my new 2500 pulls it like a dream.

Diesel or Gas?
If diesel use the Exhaust brake for the downhills. If the gas, you can put it in Manual mode (L) and hold a gear if you like, but tow/haul mode does fine.
I have the 6.6 gas and my trailer weighs maybe 5K loaded. I have had no issues towing. One thing I do miss is the exhaust break from my previous diesels.
