Anyone know if the GMC illuminated emblem from the pre-refresh 2022 will fit the new refresh model?

Is your illuminated emblem black or red?

red ...... I wanted the black but the part keeps getting pushed back and honestly I'm happy with the red now being it has no chrome

How difficult is the install?

Not too bad. Tricky part is removing existing emblem inlays without breaking them if you’re looking to save them. Overall plugnplay. There’s some good videos on Youtube

Had to order red. Can’t get black right now. You can just plastidip if you want it black. I did it and then went back to the red because it matched the color of my truck.

I believe gm updated the illuminated lights due to the water intrusion the new part number is listed as 84926563 for the black with multi pro tailgate

thanks he has the item listed wrong thats for a truck without the muti pro tailgate you can see the rear emblem has the tabs

I bought the older version (won an auction for $120), but I put clear silicone on it to try and combat water intrusion.

I just picked up the illuminated emblem for my 22’ AT4 Sierra. I did the install on my wife’s 22’ Denali Yukon and it was fairly simple. But I’ve heard on the Sierra, you might have to remove grill? Can you tell me how yours was?

Disregard. I had to pull the grill back just a little to get in there but it was actually easier than the wife’s.
