I am ordering a AT4 x or HD AEV 1500 vs. 2500.
So many pros and cons help me decide please! It’s my dream truck. 1500 dual lock, gasser, easier daily. 2500 steps for wife, can be used for more hardcore work, looks better, have to deal with big diesel for 900 torque! Not as good off road. A little help? I am 6’5” 230 with family of 4-6 long road trips and parents live on ranch with 10 mile dirt roads that wash out etc. test drove proxies as seen. Will use daily. Will love outside garage for at least first year till garage finished. Will keep for 200-300k. Deposit is in need to decide by Tuesday.

Although I love my 2500HD AEV, for me it's more like a big toy, turns heads wherever I go, put big money into it, paid well over asking, all accessories etc.

For you, I honestly recommend you go for the 1500 gasser, daily driver, lower maintenance costs etc. It will make a difference to you, you're younger, family with kids, save your money and be practical, unless of course money is of no concern, then go for the biggest and badest.

I'd say unless you need the 2500 for work or pulling, the 1500 will do more than you would ask of it. It is a beauty for a daily driver. Also as mentioned, lower maintenance and upkeep costs.

Not a concern but 1500 has front lock…

Welcome Sean! I went from a fully loaded 3500 HD DRW diesel and I say good riddance to all the DEF issues and harsh ride. I no longer have a need for towing or hauling but still wanted a truck. Not just a truck…. This thing is a beast with it’s 6.2L and the lift with 35s is covered by the factory warranty! Worth checking into if your undecided….

I have the 2500 AT4X… three comments for you… it’s a beast, it’s giant, it’s a head turner… 1500 is just a 1500, no matter how u decorate it..

6.2 in 2025 is solid so is the 6.6… mileage per gallon is near the same, so it’s a $10k choice… all about $$ and torque

Practically speaking, a 1500 gasser is all you need for all the reasons I mentioned before.
