I'll make this long story as short as I can. 2 weeks ago I flew to Portland OR because there was the exact truck I wanted in Vancouver WA. A 2021 GMC 1500 AT4 with the Duramax and the longer bed. I bought the truck and the next morning started my 6 hour drive back home. About 30 minutes into the drive, the truck bumped hard, the check engine light came on and it went into limp mode. I pulled over and called a tow truck. The dealer gave me a loaner car while they figured out what the problem was. A few days later they said it was the transmission control module. They replaced it and said the truck was fine. I drove back there and got the truck. About 3 miles later it did it again but this time it didn't go into limp mode. I turned around and returned the truck for a full refund. This weekend at a dealership where I live, They had a 2020 Denali with the 3.0 Duramax. Very nice truck but without the offroad package I wanted. I bought it yesterday and while driving it home the rear end locked up while driving. It released as soon as I let off the gas. I took it back and they are checking it out today. Hopefully it is a easy fix and there are no other problems. I'm starting to think that I am not meant to have a nice truck. Has anyone experienced either of these issues? Both of these trucks have about 30k miles.

Maybe I should buy a Mega Millions ticket for tonight and see if it turned my luck around. Then I can afford to buy a brand new truck.

Ya thats crazy. Its hard to say if it good to get it over in the beginning or if its a “sign”.

Well, did you win? :)

I know this is late but I had the same issue, same truck, but as I was stopping I pressed the auto-stop button and bam. Transmission control module code came on, turned it off, cleared itself. A week later terrible gas mileage for about 200 miles then the transmission knock came. Dealer replaced the transmission (metal shavings in the pan) but mpg is still wonky. Dealer says that don’t know what’s causing the mpg issue even though I have hard data showing something isn’t right. Going to another dealer hoping to fix whatever is going on. Issue now could be unrelated to the transmission but we’ll see.
