Got bored during my knee surgery recovery and started a speaker upgrade.

I suggest replacing your dash speakers and sound deaden the front doors . Less than $200 makes a huge difference. Buy a high sensitivity low rms with filter- like Memphis MS25 ($100/pair).

The Bose highs sound like a drowning cat compared to the reasonable cost of the Memphis.

I first added JL 12” powerwedge+ with keyloc.

Mine sound good to me also. If i was going to drop 5-10k on my truck it would be a super charger and a winch. lol.
A diesel would have solved your I need more power issues. A winch is nice for the 3-4 times you’ll need it in a decade.
ATVs and jeeps need a winch, not a $70k+ truck. I’ll call and pay for a tow truck before I take on the liability to pull someone out of a ditch.

I use my truck for what it was built for. I take this truck out 3 - 4 times a year doing decent off roading. Then on top of that i tow and camp with the truck. She is no pavement princess lol. Would be nice to pull a TRX or Raptor, however my wife would kill me if I dropped that kind of cash lol. A winch I would have used at least 3 times already in the year I've owned the truck. However i normally go off roading with my brother in his built 4 runner with his 12k winch. Dont know if i will spend the 3-4k to install the one i want however. To each his own. Some find value in things that others dont, and vise versa. My bose system has sounded good in my truck. no complaints here so far.

You can get a really good winch for $2000 and a tow truck in the wilderness could be more than that if you can get anyone to come out.

You guys are seriously confused about my post. The $100 Memphis audio MS25 highs that come with High pass crossovers I chose seriously brighten up the Bose system for almost nothing.

There are 100s of options for speakers but the MS25s fit the Bose amp best at 4ohm 25 watts rms and 50w peak with an 87db sensitivity= as close to factory Bose amp supply as you can get. As an audiophile and engineer they make the factory Bose HI’s sound were underwater in comparison.

Just trying to help out anyone else that doesn’t wants to spend thousands on their factory system. From my research/application the Memphis audio MS25 (25w rms @ 87db) for the dash speakers.

This wasn’t a winch, lift kit, blower, turbo, supercharger, $10k audio investment Post. For $150 you could have an infinitely better sound system you can do yourself. $60 in peel n stick sound deadening from Amazon is worth it while you’re front door panel is off.

I don't think anybody is all that confused about it but as often happens on the Internet it took a detour sorry about assisting in the derailment of your useful post by some of us who don't currently see the need.

To answer your question Chevrolet (GMC) have the absolute worst factory audio systems I’ve ever heard. In my opinion their “concert” sound where all the sound comes from the front is the main problem.

Thanks! I'll look into these for that low price.

I have to agree with you. GM must of put the very low end Bose speakers actually stock. They do not sound like quality Bose speakers I’ve experienced in our SUVs. They are not high quality at all. I feel GM used Bose as one of their selling tactics. Thank you for your recommendation on the Memphis speakers.
