High Clearance Steps Drop Blocks

I don’t want to rub people the wrong way. But these trucks are lifted and made for “off road” clearance. I purchased my truck used. The guy traded it in because he and his wife hated the high step and it was too difficult to enter the vehicle. He purchased a Denali. They are more of a caddy ride and 4 inches lower. Maybe instead of lowering these trucks like some people are, that’s insane to me btw, buy the Denali version? I even have issues sometimes with my leveling kit and the jump up as I m getting older. Im afraid my next truck will be a Denali version unfortunately. Getting old sucks.

You’re not wrong!

I was thinking the same thing. I like the feel of the lifted truck per say, but the steps were too high. I had a friend of mine do some welding and dropped them down 2" and now perfect.

I am older and the steps were not right for me. I bought the normal GM drop steps and sold my high clearance steps for enough to cover the change out

I have the GM steps that came with my truck. I am not a fan. They are NOT the higher ones I see on the AT4X that are level with the door. I have almost busted my azz a few times from weather here in MT. Im looking into Westin style square tube type with aggressive step tread fir traction. I believe they are higher but for now I will sacrifice climbing for a possible busted head.

You have a picture of the boards? Are the boards icing up, creating an ice skating rink?

Here is a picture. They look nice but yes ice rink. Even rainy they get slippery. Im not a klutz and I wear good boots almost always. Just saying for anyone who might be wondering if Im just accident prone.

I would say you are correct. I have a chrome set on the '22 drw. You have to use the grab bar on the A pillar and be confident with the foot placement entering and existing.
