HAD a problem. I didn't have my dream truck, but now I do.
2024 3500 crew cab long bed 6.6L gas. Ordered in late June. Built 2nd week of November. Delivered December 12th.
Worth the wait! After I ordered this truck my current 2015 Gmc sierra 1500 max tow ate it. 265k miles and finally got bit by the lifter failure. Honestly I was expecting it a little sooner, but is what it is. Got that all fixed up, then lost the 2nd transmission. Luckily I just landed a new customer who owned a transmission shop so got a little deal on a beefy rebuild. Anyway, it was already decided to retire this truck to what it was built for... Light duty. That truck kept my remodeling company going for almost 10 years, so I do not want to discredit it. It towed and hauled and drove it's ass off. Still looks new inside and out.
Anyway, the 3500 is now my main work/tow tool and I'll leave the 1500 to dirty and city work days. Work trucks get mangled in the city, especially crew cab long bed ones so keeping this one out! I've already added some mods to this one to make it my own and really enjoying this platform. The 6.6l and 10spd trans combo really works well together in my opinion. Very smooth/linear power delivery.
Nice to find this little forum to share and discuss these specific trucks. Looking forward to seeing what other people are doing to and with these beasts.
