Howdy y'all! My name is Matt, and I'm in beautiful Charleston, SC. My hobbies include music, sporting clays, and loving the lowcountry life. Excited to be here and learn more about y'all's GMCs!

I have a 2024 Yukon XL AT4 that I am in the slow process of chrome deleting. Luckily, most of it comes that way. I got some black wheels after I bought it, and now I'm working on the front. I ordered a black grill and badges. I'm stuck trying to find out what this part is called. I thought it would be a skid plate or something similar, but that search only results in the actual underbody skid plates. Please see the attached pic.

No. That is only used on the AT4. The rest of the models use multiple pieces and not off-road looking.

It's not my money, but I'd buy it, take it to the local rino liner guy, and leave it with him and have him do it the next time he's spraying a truck bed. Would be cheap, might do it for free.

Maybe even do it on the cheap, get some liner stuff from a local store. Like Herculiner from Home Depot. Hear good results and coat what you have.

Welcome. That's going to look real good when you are done with it. I like the blacked out look. I might get there eventually.

Thanks! I'll upload some pics when I'm done. One more question before I start this... could I just take the skid plate I currently have on the vehicle off and get it coated? Or does it need to be new? I imagine the one currently on there would need a deep cleaning and prep.

If'n it's real dirty, hose off with soap and water, dry, then wipe down with lacquer thinner.

Is it AL or is it plastic? Plastic, maybe try sanding on the backside and see if you can get thru the silver to black. If'n so, bead/sand blast what you have to black!

It's 100% plastic, so I'll give it a once-over sanding. Thanks!
