I've been planning on getting an AT4 for a couple of years but it's been on hold as I bought a new Jeep. Back to the AT4 research recently and I see the mid year changes to the 2023 AT4X with the AEV front bumper standard and an AEV package as an option that includes the rear bumper and skid plates. I actually like the current setup with just the front bumper from AEV standard but it seems strange for the front to be standard and the rear AEV optional. Any ideas why GMC decided to do it this way? Supply chain shortages? I may or may not get around to buying a 2023 but I won't be waiting past 2024 and I hope they still have the current setup when I am ready to pull the trigger.

My guess they changed over the front end design because it looked exactly like the at4 they need to differentiate it more between the two

My AT4X AEV addition has the factory rear but a front AEV bumper along with shocks and skid plates. I picked the truck up in Feb 2023 and I love the setup. What I miss is the head rest emblem. Also I have contacted AEV about a grill guard setup (here in Cattle Country) and their response was things are usually a year out once they decide to do something. I know they do the guard for Dodge and am just hoping they add it to the GMC and GM front bumpers.

That’s interesting. The AEV edition came with the AEV logo on the headrest and the rear AEV bumper (All AT4X produced about halfway through the 23 model run came standard with the AEV front bumper) as well the Multimatic shocks. If you truck does not have the AEV rear bumper or the AEV headrests, it’s l sounds like you may not have the AEV edition. Check your window sticker. It would be listed there and was just about a $7k option. Also, you should have “Salta” wheels as they were part of the AEV edition well.
