Hello All,
Hi all, we live in the Hudson Valley of Eastern NY, originally from the Boston area. My wife, Michele, and I recently retired and we're exploring the camping thing. At the end of this week we're off to Cape Cod, MA our sixth 2 week trip for the year. These days our kids are spread from NH down to NC and what better way to visit them than with your own place to stay.
This is our first GMC although we traded up from a 22 Silverado 1500 which we used to tow our travel trailer, the half ton didn't quite do it. We knew we had to move up to a 3/4 ton but we're 69 years old and the bigger size means a higher climb to get into the truck. So what to do... Well we'll be swapping out the high clearance steps for the standard black steps, which I love by the way, that'll give us a couple less inches to the first step into the truck, which works for me but not my wife. We found a useful fold up aluminum adjustable height step we can use to help her into the truck which can also be used with the travel trailer at unlevel campground sites. We've only had the AT4 HD for a few days but we are loving it. We can't wait to tow the trailer. I'm going to post a couple pics, please no drooling.
