I have an appointment with the dealer next week to get my new truck looked at. A few times now when backing up, I get a red X icon on the display and the backup camera does not work. The "fix" has been to get out, open and close the tailgate (slam it), and usually that works.

2nd issue is android auto. Randomly while driving down the road, google assistant will chime in and start listening, even though we have not pushed any buttons, listened to anything remotely near the android "hey google" phrase, or anything else. I have to click the hang up button on the wheel to cancel it out. It's super annoying.

Darn, that sucks. Good luck getting it fixed. I wish they still offered new vehicles without all of this problematic tech...

Yes, it is annoying. Glad you’re taking it into the shop. A lot of times this computers on vehicles are just like home computers, phones, etc. - They need a “hard reset”. I’ve had luck in the past with some issues with just unhooking the negative battery cable and let it set for 30 minutes or so. Sometimes allows the computer to reset and fixes the issue. But with a warranty, no reason at all not to take it in.

Yeah Tech is nice when it works. But once we get dependent on it, that's when it all fails. I've got friends with kids who can't read a map or a compass. If google maps went down half the country would be lost. Keep us posted on the cause and fix, in case it happens to ours, and good luck!

Any reoccurrence of the backup camera issue? I have a 22 refreshed AT4 and I’ve gotten the backup camera error twice so far in 3 weeks since purchasing it but it goes away the next time I drive the truck. I know if I take it in to the dealer they won’t be able to replicate and be hard pressed to do anything

3 trips to the dealer, reflash of the radio each time with new firmware that "fixes" the issue. It's been fine for a couple months now but time will tell.

I have the same car, and I have noticed it happens when the lighting change, for ex if I enter the garage at night the the lights are low the error happens, you can even confirm my statement buy putting reverse in a dark parking and turn on the cargo lamps 7 out of 10 time u will get the error. I really hope they fix this issue
