Hard rolling tonneau cover by Rev (on GMC website)

Late to the party

I have one. Its secure in the sense that it will keep the honest people honest, but if someone wants in they'll get in

Decent seal

True, but every hard or soft rolling cover has that. I had a soft rolling cover on my last truck, and don't like the folding hard covers b/c of how it doesn't open up the bed if you need the whole bed.

I have a Bak Revolver X4S. I like it better than the roll-ups that I’ve had in the past. It rolls up and down one handed unlike the others that you have to ensure that the roll up evenly. Seal is pretty good, except at the tailgate, which I bought a tailgate seal for. I would buy it again.

Theres a similar amount of lost open space towards the cab with the Bakflip

I just looked at the X2 which says it has an integrated tailgate lock? The X4S didn't show that.

I also have the BAK Revolver X4S, which I bought and installed last February. I like it, but it has some issues. It has always had a low area near the back/cab going all the way across the cover. No matter what adjustments I tried on the mechanisms holding the cover on at the back (you can tighten or loosen these bolts), it made no difference.

It also came with a stripped out screw on the right side of the latch at the tailgate end. I used a bit bigger screw to re-secure it, but that has come out now. The cover will no longer latch down completely in the back because of this screw being loose and now gone.

The two plastic pieces on the right and left of the tailgage end of the cover have now both snapped off. I am very careful with the cover - watched a lot of YT videos about this cover, and it was a common mention that these plastic pieces break off easily.

I took pictures of all of this and going to contact BAK monday. I have heard they are very good with replacement parts, or the whole cover if need be. I do like the cover, but for a grand it should not have had these flaws from the factory, nor should the two plastic pieces on the back/tailgate be so week and prone to breaking. This is the first tonneau cover I have ever had (well, I had a 2004 Avalanche once, so it had the awkward hard cover), and it is very nice to keep all my tools/misc dry (I am a contractor) and out of the snow and weather here in Montana. I hope BAK just sends me a whole different cover honestly, as this one had some flaws from the factory.

BAK got back to me, and agreed there was something wrong in the build of the rolling hard cover. They sent me a new rolling hard cover at no charge. I just need to get it installed now, which I have been under the weather with Covid and Flu B, so that is not happening right now.

I got it off of trucks.com I believe (or I think that is what it was called). I contacted that site, and they gave me the info to contact BAK.

This cover was never right. I thought maybe it would flatten out or whatnot over time once installed, but it never did. I give BAK credit for honestly honoring their return/replacment warranty.

I am a contactor/builder and grew up on a farm, so I am quite capable with equipment, following proper instructions on installing something as fairly minor as a hard rolling bed cover. I believe this particular cover had a flaw when it was manufactured. I of course did my due diligence even before buying this cover of watching many YT vids, reading reviews with pictures, etc. No other covers of this exact same model I saw during my research had such a deformity like mine had.

The plastic endcaps on the corners of the cover are it's biggest weak spot. I have been very careful over the last 10 months of ownership to not damage those. One of those was never attached correctly, and there were stripped and missing screws from that area which clicks into the back of the cover on the tailgate end. I should have probably asked for a replacement immediately, but thought I would give things time. I did try to replace the stripped or missing screws with slightly larger ones to hold into place, but they eventually failed also.

I do really like the cover. It is not perfect and has a weak area in the plastic end caps, but overall is a very good product. I give BAK credit for their timely response to my replacement request. I had to send multiple pictures of the problem areas, which is fair and reasonable. And they sent out a replacement fairly quickly. So I would recommend BAK and their product.

had an issue with mine-made contact and they shipped a new one , only had to provide pictures. great customer service .

Good deal, I am going with the older model the Revolver X2 from the Tonneau Factory Outlet as they dropped the price to $949
