Grille Spotted

Hello my first post and my first question I have a 2024 thunderstorm gray 6.2 and the grille at the top by the hood is smoked black/gray but it looks spotty like darker and lighter in areas Splotchy looked at another AT4s on lot same way even a Denali ultimate have the smoked grill looked the same way, what are your guys thoughts on this. Dealer Said they can try to get a new one but they all look like that. Looks like paint is thin in some areas. Thanks for any help. I’ll try and get pic in morning

I don't believe it is paint at all, I may be wrong. It looks like "smoked chrome" to me. Like the rest of the grille. My Daughter's grille in her Lexus looks like this as well. I haven't noticed mine being splotchy though. I also haven't had time to really clean the truck up myself since I took delivery last Friday so it could be, I just don't know it yet. If it is I am going to have mine wrapped to match the truck.

Well, it is raining here today and I was bored so I put mine in the garage and cleaned that piece. It is splotchy and like I said, it is not paint. It is smoked chrome plastic. I am not sure you can get one that isn't splotchy. I have over 10,000 lumens of led lighting in my garage and it won't show up in pics, I tried. I will be having mine wrapped to the color of the truck, or as close as we can get.

Mine is blotchy as well. I’ve cleaned and polished it and it’s still blotchy.

Are you guys talking about Vader chrome or the Dark Nickel accent?

I have heard about the dark nickel accent looking like it has finger prints on it making it look like it needs cleaned.

If it's vader, it should not look like that.

Not sure the difference? It is not pure black like gloss black or matte black. It is a smokey colored chrome plastic. That's the best way to describe it.

It’s kinda hard to see right now but you can see the lighter areas in the darker areas. What’s your opinions? Thanks for any input

Yup, I think that is what we all are seeing in ours too. Mine is pretty bad to be honest, and I don't think you can make it look any better by polishing it or anything as it is just plastic. That's why I am going to get mine wrapped.

yeah, that's a lil darker than what is on our 1500's.

I have tinted 4 different AT4 1500's in the last 2 days and each one of them, the grille piece looked like ours. I don't think you can get that any better? That's why I will wrap mine soon.
