Ik not many people read this stuff, butt I thought I might add some information for those who might decide to do the front grill overlay. Its pretty easy to do but I would NOT install it in cold weather. I installed mine in Montana on a 80 degree day. I used the supplied "3M" tape. The install lasted about 2 weeks. I cleaned the surfaces with goo gone auto tar and bug cleaner and it still failed. The ends of the grill started to gradually come off. Ik it was a matter of time before water, snow, ice etc would cause it to separate further. Next install was on a 95 dgree day. I pulled the overlays off, there are 2, and removed the tape. It was way too easy. I purchased NEW auto 3M tape about 15 feet. I cleaned both the overlay surface area and the grill with the cleaner. I applied new tape the same areas before but also added more to the far ends of the overlay. I aplied the overlay and used preasure to adhere it to the grill. I could tell immediately the overlay was going to stick. I used long zip ties to secure the 4 ends. Using the zip ties for a few days is to make sure the ends seal. The directions from the overlay manufacture say to let the sun or heat activate the tape. I agree this helps with the install and make the tape very tacky. Problem with install on a cold day is the tape can not get tacky enough to adhere. The tape that came with the overlay is not 3M or if it is its a less quality. IMO if you want your overlay to last longer than a year or 2 too use new tape and NOT the original. Its easy to remove if its heated up. This should help the overlay protect your grill for years to come. Pictures to follow.
