Does anyone know what the entire GM Performance Exhaust consist of like where does it start. I plan on replacing it since it’s not loud enough.
It's a Cat-Back exhaust designed from Borla.Does anyone know what the entire GM Performance Exhaust consist of like where does it start. I plan on replacing it since it’s not loud enough.
As @Duramaximus said it is a cat back exhaust by Borla. Only thing I will add is that there are three styles for different noise levels.Does anyone know what the entire GM Performance Exhaust consist of like where does it start. I plan on replacing it since it’s not loud enough.
I’m trying to see if I have to replace the entire thing or I can just order a muffler? My understanding is the GM one is the Borla Touring. I don't think they offer the S-type or Atak from GM, you'll have to order that from Borla or other exhaust resellers. Mine came with the GM performance exhaust (Borla Touring) but I'm replacing it with the Borla S-type.
I have the GM one. Perfect sound for meI know this is a dumb question, but I’ll be honest, I’ve never had a vehicle with a Borla exhaust. I’ve always had Flowmasters on my trucks and on the Chevelle, and I have Magnaflow on my GTO.
If I’ve read everyone’s posts correctly, and from the couple videos I’ve watched, on the 6.2L AT4’s, the Borla S-Type is a little higher pitched, but quieter exhaust note, and the Borla ATAK is a lower pitched, but louder exhaust note. Does that about sum it up correctly?
I have a wife and a 5 year old, and with a cold air intake and cat back, I want mine to have the full, deep, good exhaust sound, but not be deafening (or raspy like Corsa).
Yes, the ATAK is more louder than the s-type . I also have never had borlas on a truck but had them on a mustang which sounded great with very high pitch . I notice that These vehicles are very much well insulated that you will really not notice too much exhaust .I know this is a dumb question, but I’ll be honest, I’ve never had a vehicle with a Borla exhaust. "More louder" eh? Is that like "more gooder?"Yes, the ATAK is more louder than the s-type . If you go with the Borla ATAK you won't need a welder. It clamps right on. I installed mine in my garage. Thanks guys. I played that YouTube clip of the S-Type vs the ATAK and the ATAK vs the Flowmaster 10 for my wife, and she also thinks that the ATAK is the best sounding of the three. Plus she loves the chrome quad tips, so I can sell her on that one I think lol. Now I just need to buy a welder so I can install the cat back myself in my garage lol.
Lol… As what i seen on videos i think it’s loud on cold starts then pretty silent after a couple minutes. I have a flowmaster “outlaw “ muffler on mine , which is flowmasters loudest muffler, it’s pretty loud at cold starts but silent after a couple mins, pretty low tone on the road til you get on it , again the vehicles are well insulated to help keep the noise resonance out."More louder" eh? Is that like "more gooder?"
I'm just playin...
It is loud and proud when you start it up. But after she runs for a minute she quiets right down. On the highway it's loud if you get on it but nothing annoying. I can barely hear it when I'm cruising.
