Good afternoon y'all,

I have recently had a (very inviting) interaction with highway patrol about the absence of my front license plate. Long story short, the truck never had the bracket installed and I can't bring myself to drill holes in my beloved truck. Has anyone found a solution that doesn't require drilling? California is stupid.. I KNOW! (Luckily he didn't notice my 5% front windows and 35% windshield or I'd be in cuffs haha)

What do dealers do on a test drive?
Usually just carry the dealer plate with them in case, but CHP selectively choose who they wanna pull over it seems. I had the front plate on my windshield in clear view, but he said that just makes it more obvious I don't have it mounted properly and is not legal either.

double back tape on bumper? plate on dash displayed in windshield?

Drill it. What difference does it make, you won't see the holes. I'm in California, and I ordered mine with the bracket. I guess there are holes under there, but nobody would know. Have fun with it and get a holder to your liking. This is an aluminum billet, and I love it, and the message. If you want to just get it signed off, seems like you will end up in the same situation again. There are holes in the back, do they bother you too?

Yeah, I’ll probably get harassed again, the holes aren’t what bother me just don’t like front license plates haha. I have the oem bracket in order with my local GMC dealer.

I live in NY w same shit ass law. Really takes away from the great look these trucks have. I purchased my truck from Jim Murphy GMC. My front plate is attached to a plate holder that fits the front bumper curves. Held on with pop rivets. Center located on front of truck. About the best ur goonna get. Call them on purchase of bracket.
