Hello every one , this is my first post as a new member , I have a single cap AT4 since I live in the Middle East , 2022 limited .
I am sure there are multiple discussions about leveling the truck , I bought 1.75 readylift front level kit with control arms since this kit ( as far that I know ) will enable me to keep the oem 18 wheels and same tire size , as you are all aware I will lose the 4high feature due to the new angle of the drive shaft ( if I recall correctly ) , a mechanic friend suggested to drop the front diff and this will solve the issue so to get to the exact question , the min diff drop kit is 2”-4” so can I drop the front diff by 2” while I’m only lifting the nose up by 1.75” or this will create any other problem ? The truck is still new with like 4K KM on it and I don’t want to lose warranty ! Appreciate your feedback

@Khaledsamy36 - as far as I know, you shouldn't lose any capabilities regarding 4WD selection. I have lifted many trucks in the past - from a basic leveling kit to a 6" lift - and I have never lost the capability to select 4-high. On the 6" lift I did have to adjust for both front and rear drive shaft length, but you shouldn't have to do that for a simple leveling kit like the ReadyLift. Heck...I could be entirely wrong, but I think you'll be good to go without dropping the diff.

Welcome, by the way!

Tim

I lifted my old Sierra 4 inches ( 17 SLT and switching to 4 high was giving bad grinding noise ) also almost all leveling kit brands are stating on their page it is not recommended to use 4auto/high with the level kit .

Yep...I have seen that verbiage as well, but I have never encountered what you have after a lift. I believe it's a "CYA" statement from the manufacturer of the kits just in case something goes south. I have a '21 Jeep Wrangler 392 that I put a 3.5" lift kit in it and no changes to either the front or rear drive shafts (or the diff) and use it mainly for offroading in Colorado and Moab. No issues to date.

Of course, it is your truck so I would always defer to your choices when it comes to things like this. I have been offroading in Qatar before and I always found 4-high to be the primary mode when running the dunes...mainly around the Inland Sea (Al Wakrah) area.

Thank you , let me install the kit and will see .

from what I read at Ready Lift web site is the level kit has NO issues but the SST lift kit suggests NOT to use automatic 4x. I could be wrong from real world experience. I don’t know

You are right , installed it 3 weeks ago and I was not in need to the diff drop kit I bought ( just in case ) everything worked fine and I like the stance as well

What size tires you running? Ready lift say biggest you can run is the 275/60/20. I was hoping for a 285. I don’t know.

This is the factory 18 rim and factory tires , I just added 1.5 ksp wheel spacers ( adapters )

No I did not . Just for the looks .
Also if you are planning on getting this kit , get direct from ready lift . I did a mistake and ordered from eBay and came missing some washers that I have to search for locally for couple of days . Contacted readylift as I thought they sell the kit without them but they stated that these washers are part of the kit but they have similar issues with eBay / Amazon sellers that’s why they don’t recommend buying from them

I have my kit. I received it from Amazon. It looks to all be there. Im also putting on the Bilstein shocks all around. I usually do the work myself but there is more involved with the AT4. CV boot damage, the upper shock mounts and needing a spring compressor. I wish Bilstein made the full assembly like FOX. Im also putting Michelin 275/60/20 Defenders on with FUEL wheels offset 1. I might be able to get 285 as Michelin LTX are not as aggressive. But I don’t know.

I also have a concern about using the spare. I reached out to READY LIFT and the said a spacer may need to be used if used. I also read that if you use a spare with the SST kit to keep it under 40 and minimum distance to not damage your 4WD. This is another reason I choose to do a level and not a lift. I think they should consider a transfer case spacer like they do on the Toyots RC 3inch lift. Not sure if that is possible or if its too much.
