Fog lights or lack of light

Anyone notice that the fog lights are just there for looks and dont actually put out any light. Any one have any fixes for them they are terrible.

Is your truck a refresh? I can't tell by your thumbnail on my phone.

Baha lights has a dual light kit for the 23.and back.

Mine they changed the fog light to a small round one. GM needs to fix the lighting, headlights freeze over and fog lights do nothing

I added a small light bar under the bumper to “fix” this issue Attached it to the bumper mounts with a piece of steel angle iron

The fog lights on the refresh suck. They are completely useless.
That said, Baja S2 lights are almost identical in size and when the warmer weather gets here, I will be swapping out my fogs for a set of the S2s. Just need to fab up some brackets.

My only complaint with this truck is the non-existent fog lights. Will watch what you guys are doing.

My front AEV steel bumper has these huge square holes next tow hooks where I'm sure some fog lights can be installed just need to figure out which ones fit.
For the rear steel bumper I ordered 3" Baja amber lights and AEV brackets designed for the AEV bumper knockouts also next to two hooks, be here in a few days.

Is that surround plastic or metal? I plastic, it would be easy to modify to square off without looking too obvious.

Its thick hefty plastic approximately 4"W X 3 1/4"H hole, much larger than one in the rear bumper hence can likely fit a decent sized amber fog lamp.
Baja Designs are expensive however cheaper options are available elsewhere.
Found a pic somewhere where he used a 3x3" light, nice job although you can see theres a gap on one side. Where do we find a 4x3 perhaps none exist. I see lights are inset in the install below, I'd like to see them flush with the surround; it is possible the rear AEV brackets can also be improvised for the front. I'll check when I receive brackets I ordered for the rears.

I measured the exact size of front openings, 3 5/8" W x 3 1/8" H. Fog lights can be white or amber; existing ones are white, I'm thinking amber/yellow 3000K will serve well in fog and heavy fog I always experience when visiting our daughter in winter, driving through BC Canada mountains.

Ended up ordering the following for the AEV front bumper openings.
1. Diode Dynamics Stage Series 3in SAE Yellow Pro Flush Mount LED Pod (pair), Yellow Fog with Yellow Backlight
2. Diode Dynamics DD4093: Heavy Duty Dual Output 3-way 4-pin Wiring Harness (for main fog and backlight)
3. Diode Dynamics Multicolor Solid-State Relay Harness (one)

Shame the truck does not have spare aux/upfitter switches. Rather than wire up additional switches in the cockpit, I'll tap into existing fog light output wiring to energize main fog lamp beams using the Diode Dynamics Solid-State Relay and use existing parking light wiring to directly energize the backlight in the new Fogs which consume very little power. I'll see how it all works out.

I'm most likely in trouble now with flush mount fog lamps I ordered expected later today, they may or may not fit after the COMEUP winch was just installed; part of the space behind front bumper openings are now occupied by the winch motor. I may have to build a standoff to install flush mount lamps or reorder non flush mount 3"x3" lamps instead. TBD
