Glad I found this forum to see what works and different mods / looks you all are doing and I’m looking forward to participating & helping where I can. Currently weighing options on toppers (Line X Elite looking good) vs combo of retractable tonneau & adjustable roof racks (yakima/ Thule options. Any recommendations / lessons learned from similar set ups appreciated.
For the construction folks, very happy with my flasher package : https://ultrabrightlightz.com/searc...=last&q=Z-Flash+LCM+Plugin+Flasher+for+GM+×+1

Welcome, nice truck! I've been looking at the Z-Flash for some time now since I work on construction sites. Have you had any issues to report, or does it work just as they advertise?

Pigpen - working well so far and installation is pretty straight forward.

I like not having a switch to toggle on/off so went with the direct wiring and control using my hi beams (hold for 4-5 seconds) and it doesn’t give you the blinking hazard light noise or any indications other than your left & right turn signal stay solid on.

If you use the key fob sequence, the lights will stay on if your truck is turned off. If used with the hi beam method above, flashers will turn off if your truck is turned off.

It’s a nice sequence, and have actually had people move over onto shoulders in a few instances thinking I’m a first responder when I forgot to turn them off. Factor that in along with the generally high rate of speed I’m traveling at and I get it lol

Best of luck.

Welcome!

I have the Retrax Pro* with Yakima Overhaul rack. The components are expensive, but well made and stout. Retrax customer service is lousy, but you’re unlikely to need their assistance. The downside is the loss of bed space taken up by the canister. It’s too deep to accommodate the Decked drawers.

There are days when I wish I could push a button and convert the Retrax tonneau system to a “Decked” system, but what I have is the best overall compromise for me.

* For unknown reasons, Retrax makes the “Pro” cover in two configurations, one of which doesn’t have the T-slots in the rails. If you buy that version by mistake you won’t be able to mount any of the racks, and Retrax will not swap one set of rails for the other, even if the rails are unused and still in original packaging, so be careful when you order, and make sure you go through a reputable retailer, like eTrailer. (Retrax will, of course, sell you another set of rails for…. wait for it…. Another $500. That’s the bend over the desk loyal customer rate for $40 worth of aluminum extrusion.):rolleyes:
