Hi
I have a 2023 AT4 2500 Sierra 4x4! I hear guys saying that these trucks come with a factory 2" lift! Is that a true statement? Or is it the 1500's that have a factory lift? I need some clarification please!
With that said I'm going to change out my factory shocks and I want to go with Bilsteins 5100's but it is also said that the 5100's are for lifted trucks / leveled trucks and the 4600's would be better suited for stock height trucks! But if my stock 2500 is factory lifted than I should be able to go 5100's! Yes or No?
thanks in advance for your feedback!

You can buy the 5100’s in factory length or longer depending on the lift.…I plan on changing mine to 5100’s when the stock ones wear out.

The hd at4 does not have a 2" lift from factory. 1500's have the 2" factory lift.

The 2500HD AT4 is simply just an interior/exterior appearance package with rancho shocks. More color matched parts and the infamous red tow hooks that no one likes. The 2500HD AT4X on the other hand comes factory with a Leveling kit through the Bilstein DSSV shocks in order to clear the 35's from factory.

Thanks guys for the clarification, I also called Bilstiens and they also confirmed that for a stock level 2500 the correct fit for me would be the 4600 series unless I put a leveling kit or lift!
thank you!

I'm surprised by Bilsteins response. I have these on the rear of a stock 23 at4hd 2500...

And these on the front...

Just to clarify he did say the rear would work with 5100's but not on the front unless it has a 1.5 leveling kit or lift in order to work on the front with stock height. I have no plans to take off road and I do want to stay stock height. I pull a 5th wheel and I wanted better shocks than the Rancho's it came with!
thanks for the links!

The 2024 AT4X 2500HD comes with Factory-installed 1.5-inch (38mm) suspension lift; Multimatic DSSV dampers; Rear e-locking. I of course have not measured the lift but my 2024 AT4X 2500HD AEV edition towers above anything as it comes from factory.

How is the Mileage? Im considering when my AT4 1500 miles out of warranty. Looking at Diesel vs Gas Mileage Diesel OBVI better resale..

If you look at the 2500 specs at gmc.com you will see SLT, Denali, and AT4 have same heights. AT4X is higher.

Local driving with the Duratrax v8 6.6L: for 10-40 miles round trips, I'm averaging 13.5 -14 mpg and sometimes a bit more. On longer distances, 300 miles round trips all highways/mountain sea to sky highway to Whistler Canada and back I average 14-15.5mpg. My driving style with this truck is low aggressive with the truck primarily driven under no load condition.
