Extended Warranty Question

I bought the 23 Sierra 1500 AT4 about 3 weeks ago and at the time I was asked if I wanted to add an extended warranty and declined it, now kind of wish I did get it..... What are you all using? GMC extended factory warranty or 3rd party. I contacted my selling dealer, he recommended "Protective Asset Protection" company, the quote was 84 months / 100000 miles coverage with a $100 deductible for $3591.00+tax. Does that sound reasonable? Are you guys familiar with that company? I also did a quick Google search and the search results were not very convincing.

Another question is, Should I wait until the bumper-to-bumper warranty runs out and then go for extended warranty shopping?

I don't have an AT4, but I bought the Platinum GM Protection Plan from a different dealer, in a different state. My dealer wanted about $2400 for coverage, and I got it for $1400 from Knapp Vehicle Services, or Knapp Chevy. I only bought a total of 72 months, and 60k miles, since I don't drive a ton, and have a weekend car. Don't pay $3600.

Check with your shop first, as some shops refuse to deal with some of the low cost warranty companies as they are late to pay, are difficult to deal with, and don’t cover all supplies for the job. I experienced this with Global…

GM backed warranty. NOT 3rd party. Same one your dealer is trying to sell you. Platinum GM Protection Plan

I ended up with Knapp 96 months/100000 miles, platinum $0 deductible for $2600.

Is Knapp reputible? I looked at their plans and man, it's VERY good pricing.
