Extended parking?

Found this, but haven't tried it.

>>>
The GM Extended Parking feature automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle is parked for 20 minutes and the key fob is not present, or after an hour when the key fob is present.

Disabling the feature is accomplished by pressing and holding the engine/vehicle start button until the driver information center displays the message “automatic shutdown off.”

This doesn’t work on all GM vehicles, but more so on the newer ones, especially those running the automaker’s new Global B electronic architecture which first debuted on the 2020 Cadillac CT5, followed by the 2020 Cadillac CT4, Chevy Corvette C8, 2021 Buick Envision, and the 2021 Chevy Tahoe, 2021 Suburban, 2021 GMC Yukon and 2021 Cadillac Escalade.

I know this thread is old. But I just joined with the excuse of just picking up my 23 2500 AT4HD.

I had this applied to my 22 3500drw Denali this summer and planning on doing the same to this truck.

It just shows a blank white screen. My new 2023 Sierra 2500 does the automatic shut down after a half hour and I need to disable this. Thank you if u can help me.

Hello, have you found a fix yet? I am in the same situation as I have a 23 Sierra 2500at4 as well

you can buy an Autosync from https://www.btdieselworks.com/ and a BCM license for the autosync for each vin number. I had it on my 2021 3500 and waiting for licenses to be available again for my 2023. They have a ton of features you can change on the BCM. A few are remote start timer to 40min and disable idle shutoff feature.
Most dealers will charge you $250+ to disable just the idle shutoff.
- A simple way to bypass idle shutoff is set the parking brake with the truck in Neutral or if you have the high idle feature.

I had to take it to the dealer and they had to go in the computer system and change it. Pain in the A. And they charged $198.

Check my post above. It’s a little more expensive for autosync. The autosync ODB plug is $300 one time purchase and a license is $300 per VIN.

I wish they had this disable feature on the 3.0 duramax.
The 1500's are included on the disable procedure in the bulletin.

As I type this, I'm getting ready to head to the service department to get the '23 AT4HD reprogrammed along with the high idle switch programmed into the bcm.

While getting oil change at dealership, I did question the service manager about reprogramming the truck and adding the extended idle time to it. He said he would check on it. He did come back and said that he made the phone call and he can do it, but I have to have proof that truck is used in Emergency/Police type work. They will not do it for just anyone??????????????????.......................???????????????????? I dropped it for now. I still keep up my EMT, but I don't know if I will mess with it or not.

Just buy an Autosync at BTdiesel and a license(when they are available). You can change all the idle times.
GM did release a bulletin this past year where they require you to be emergency services and such for a dealer to do it.

Just had it done to the 2500, last week. I'm in farming country and I didn't have to say anything about truck being used in emergency situations. I said I didn't want the truck shuting off during harvest and calving. No questions asked.
