DRL Recall

I could not download the update OTA. I had to go to the dealership for it.

I did mine at dealership as well. A negative note is that the all windows down button on the dash used to by automatic and after DRL recall now required to hold down while windows roll down. Anyone else notice this change?

The update did not affect the auto feature for my windows.

Where is the button for all windows down? Never knew there was such a thing.

On the center stack, if you have it.

Thanks!

I just looked, and I don't have that button. The AT4X has the rear locker button, then next to that the full locker button.

On a different note, I actually don't like the "tailgate down" button. It sits right next to the button disabling traction control. I usually disable traction control once I get close to my house and steep/winding/narrow qtr mile driveway that has feet of snow on it in the winter for at least 6 months here in Montana. It helps to disable traction control in those situations. But sometimes I accidentally hit the tailgate down button instead of traction control. It has yet to cause me a problem, but as a contractor I have misc tools/etc in the back of my truck often, and having the tailgate down without knowing it I could easily lose some stuff out of my bed this way.

I did buy the GM bed mesh/web thing that you can attach to the tiedowns to string it across the bed, got it for $68 as it was on discount, but still pricey for what it is. Just put that in yesterday, so that should mitigate some of the risk of losing stuff out of the bed. I have a BAK X4S on the way, supposed to be delivered tomorrow. That will keep snow/misc out of my bed, but the tailgate can still be accidentally dropped with that button on the console. Wish there was a way to disable that button or reassign it. If I am pulling my job trailer, if the tailgate gets dropped, it will likely end up hitting my trailer crank, denting the tailgate. Will be pissed if that happens. Happened several times on my 2020 AT4 as it had that same button to drop the tailgate, but that button was in a different/harder to hit spot on that truck. Still happened a few times. Disabling that button would be ideal.

Teegunn, I agree with your comment about relocating the tailgate down button. Since it's next to my Auto Shutoff, I have done the same thing. Not knowing, I must have bumped and found the tailgate down. I usually notice because I can feel the bounce of the tailgate while driving but wish it would not happen. I usually turn the auto shutoff off right away since leaving my subdivision, it seems the engine is shutting off at every stop I make. Good comment.

Yep, same for me on all accounts. I always shut off auto shutoff. My tailgate down button is located right next to the traction control shutoff. I hit the traction control shutoff daily 8 months of the year here in MT with winter weather lasting at least that long. I'd like to disable the tailgate down button if I knew how. I find it a button that has no reasonable use, personally. More a button that could cause real issues driving with a tailgate down you didn't realize was down.

At least once a week I come out of my truck and have to lift the tailgate back up not knowing I pressed the button . This is the most useless feature .

I'm not dissing anyone's opinion on the tailgate button. But...

1. Pressing the button in any gear besides PARK, should NOT drop the gate. Truck needs looked at.

2. Some drop the tailgate 10/20 times a day on the farm. I wished the button worked in gear. If you have the reverse camera on and the hitch alignment line displayed, if you stop in between the yellow and red line, you can safely drop gate with enough room to walk between shop/gate/planter/combine/center pivot irrigation tower, etc.

3. A person needs to be aware of what they are doing/pushing/operating. If that button was for sending nuclear missiles to russia, would we be discussing that button or would it be treated with respect/awareness?

Flame away as I crawl back into my hole.

Maybe GM will have an AT4 in the next Bond movie showing how cool it is to drop the tailgate and jettison cargo in a high-speed chase.

This is the first time I am hearing of a practical use .
