Way Way back in the 80's when I drove my diesel truck in sub-zero temperatures in the Himalayas, diesel gelled up. I applied the same solution other larger truckers did; gathered some wood and lit a fire below the gas tank (a steel tank I might add). Less than ten minutes later we were on our way.

Think I might have to forgo that option. 😁😁

What, if any diesel fuel additives is everyone using to prevent gelling of the diesel in cold weather? We don't get very many cold days here in north Texas, but we get a few. I've used RXP in my VW diesels back in the day and I use it in my gas engines, but was wondering if there is something better for the GMC Duramax engines?

These additives are almost all identical nowadays, it’s just personal choice and which name brand you’ve heard of. Just pick one you like and follow the directions and you’ll be fine.
