Probably been talked about million times, but kinda in a rush. Wife is leaving for a 8 hour trip and wondering pros or cons on DEF at the pump versus 2.5 gallon jug?
And how much she could expect to use while towing 7500lbs. Almost 1200 miles round trip? We only have 1900 miles and just now had to add 2.5 gallons of def to it.

My issue with the jugs is 2 out of the 4 I bought last week are not as full as the other 2 jugs and I notice 1 of them the seal was lose after removing the cap. (didn't use it at all)

Ant thoughts?

Most convenient stores/fuel stations have the jugs on the shelf.

I am on the farm with 3 trucks on def. I inventory 12 jugs and keep in basement (cool) for the year.

If your unsealed jug is clear, that is a good sign. If'n it's cloudy, dump it on your garden.

If I have a question on quality, even on a sealed jug, I use this...

Thanks for the replies. I'm in the used car business and all of the other late model truck I have bought and sold the last few years was already deleted.... This is the first 1 I have bought new that used the mess so I did not have a clue about the difference or how often to fill it up..

Thank you!

@gemarsh - Interesting post! I never would have thought that the quality of the DEF mattered. Guess I need to get heavy on DEF!

Looks like that all depends on who you talk too. When it first come out some said not to buy it at the pump because it could get contaminated. That's why I had ask about it because 1 of the jugs I bought had the seal loose when I removed the cap. With all of the BS some people pull to get attention I really didn't want to take a chance with a new 80k truck!
Special thanks to California and the EPA for adding the egr mess, dfp mess and def mess, more plastic bottles and let's not forget the cardboard boxes too.... Never made sense WHY they would screw with a simple setup.

I fill up at the pump at truck stops. Cheaper and I would assume that bc of bigger trucks constantly filling up, it would be fresh.
28k miles and never used a jug.
